Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Est dob: 6/1/2022, currently about 50 lbs Teeter is a great pup! She is potty trained and kennel trained. She knows sit, stay and is learning to lay down. She is getting better at coming when called but sometimes gets distracted. She does like to jump up which we are also working on and she's getting much better. She walks really well on a leash. She does great with dogs of all sizes but has never been around cats. She loves to cuddle and be with her people. Teeter loves to play in sprinklers and water hoses. She has not been in the pool yet but we have no doubt she will be a great swimmer. She plays fetch and loves to run. She is easily entertained with chew toys and will lay quietly in her bed. Teeter is very food motivated and will be easily trained when worked with. Teeter is in a foster home with other dogs that she does well with. Due to her energy level, she is looking for a family where there are no children under 7. Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet. This can be found on our website at : almosthomepetrescue/apply-now-1 $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
