Posted Breed: Shepherd / Hound / Mixed. Age: 10 weeks as of Feb 8th Weight: approx. 45-55 lbs full-grown Linguini loves grabbing sticks and running with them. He has the most adorable run and loves to be picked up and snuggled. He's affectionate, playful, and energetic. He is smart and learning to sit, stay and come. He will make a great family dog. Linguini was rescued from a rural shelter and is in a foster home while he waits for his forever family. He loves playing fetch and is working on potty training. He's social, playful, and affectionate. Puppies are playful, active, and loving. They need someone will lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best adult dogs they can be! The adoption fee includes three rounds of puppy vaccines, dewormer, a one-year rabies vaccine, microchip and registration, and spay/neuter. Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS-approved vet to be spayed/neutered at 16 weeks of age per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance with Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code. Please complete an adoption application and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours via email. legacyhumanesociety/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ *Due to the high volume of applications and inquiries for puppies, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
