Posted Breed: Shepherd / Cattle Dog / Mixed. Hi. My name is Lunar. I'm a young female dog about a year old. My perfect human must love dog kisses and snuggles. I want to sit at your feet, or better yet, lean on you or with my head in your lap all day long. I've got really soft fur so it's easy to give me all the pets. I will watch your every move with my brilliant blue eyes. I am so focused on you I would make a great obedience dog as well, but I'm happy as a couch potato! I have learned how to use a dog door and I go into my crate easily. I tolerate being crated during the work day. My energy level is pretty adaptable as long as my human is near. I started out very shy and I've come a long way - once I know you are safe I'll shower you with kisses. My fur is short enough so I don't need too much brushing, but it's just long enough it feels like a pillow when you pet me! I was pretty much made to snuggle. I'm good with other dogs and kids but I really prefer adult humans. To meet Lunar, please fill out an application at caws/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
