Posted Breed: Spaniel / Pointer / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 400. Maverick is a fun, active Spaniel/Pointer mix with an estimated DOB of 11/17/2018. He weighs around 43 lbs. Rumor has it that he was a carnie and surrendered to a shelter when the carnival was in town. He would have some interesting tales to tell. He is a super sweet guy who loves getting attention from people and being close to them. His foster families friends and family members who meet him fell in love with him. He is good around kids. Maverick likes to be outside and explore the backyard. He is 100% housetrained and has not had a single accident since coming into his foster home. He sleeps in his crate at night without making any noise. No shared walls for this boy as his bark can be a bit loud and he tends to bark when in his crate during the day. In his foster home he is free to roam the house. He uses the doggie door to go in and out of the house. Maverick loves squeaky toys and antlers and would be thrilled to have lots of them in his new home. He is a quick learner and has made great progress with his listening skills. Maverick is not good in the car. He doesn't get sick but he barks a lot. It is something we are working on. He has a lot of energy to burn, as most Spaniel people would know, so walks are needed to help him stay out of trouble. He walks nicely on a leash. His foster mom always carries treats with her so she can distract him when they see other dogs on their walk. A yard would be great for him but because of his tracking instincts, it needs to be a securely fenced yard. This guy would love to join some scent work classes to get him mentally worn out. As great as he is, he needs to be the only pet in the house. He is picky about is canine friends and has a high prey drive that doesn't bode well with cats.
