Description
Posted Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback / Mixed (short coat). Meet Dak! He is a fun loving one year old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. Yes, at one year of age he is approximately 90 lbs (and still growing!) but all sweet puppy at heart. He loves to run and play, including wrestling with other dog friends of similar size and energy. As a puppy, he needs a regular chance to stretch his legs and get his wiggles out but he is also very good in a crate and loves snuggle time with his humans too. Because he is young and doesn't really know his size he will do best in a home with older or no kids. He'd love to have a canine buddy to play with but doesn't require it if his family is happy to provide exercise and stimulation. Ridgebacks are handsome hunting sight and scent hounds, specially bred to hunt lions in Africa. True to his breed, Dak is smart, fast, strong and will do best with a prepared handler. To help with that, his adopter will also receive several free training sessions with him and his trainer before Dak goes to his new home. Please note, Dak is not yet neutered as his vet recommended (while he finishes growing) but a commitment to neuter is required and the cost will be covered by his adoption fee. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at .dfwrescueme/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dak is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.
