Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: 265. STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application. Dyablo is a big boy that is very sweet and affectionate. He is great with people of all ages including kids and other dogs. He loves going for car rides and enjoys going for walks to the parks or stores or even ball games. Dyablo has a lot of love to give and he can't wait to meet his forever family. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!

Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher. Thank you for stopping by to see me! Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting. If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** URBAN TAILS Saturday, September 2nd from 3:00 pm — 5:00 pm 2106 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis MN — www.urbantailspetsupply.com Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: No, bigger dogs only Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: No, older children only Requires a fenced yard: Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hi there! My name is Gilly and I'm 2 years old! I'm crate trained, potty trained and leash trained. I LOVE to go for long walks and play at the dog park. I love, love, love to run. So, if you're a runner, I might be the perfect dog for you! I love being around people, especially older kids who will run around with me. I have been told that I'm a total lover! I like other dogs if they are close to my size and I love to play with toys, too. I'm happy to take all the stuffing out of the soft ones for you or shake them all around to show you all of my skills! I also love my human's bed! She lets me sleep with her at night and I couldn't be happier getting those snuggles. I will even sometimes put myself to bed because I love the bed so much! I'm working on manners and am learning all about this new life. Because I love so many things, I sometimes have trouble controlling my excitement. Like when I hear barking dogs on TV. Boy does that get me excited too! Where can I meet those dogs from the TV anyway? I'm a happy girl and like to be the life of the party. So, if you're looking for someone to exercise with, who is also very happy to snuggle with you, I'm your gal! Come and meet me. You'll be glad you did! Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Posted Breed: Doberman Pinscher / Rottweiler (short coat). Hi, my name is Poncho and I am an 8 month old Dobie/Rottie mix. I am a nice happy dog but one of the dogs at my current resident does not like me at all. I have tried to charm him with my good looks and wonderful, loving personality but he just doesn't want to be friends. I know how to greet people appropriately and I will sit for treats.. I know sit, down, wait at doors, wait for food, place and stay. I walk well on leash. I would love an active family who will involve me in their outings! I am a little rough when playing with other dogs but I am young. I am eager to learn. I will require a traditional fenced yard at my new home! If you are interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.org. Thank you! IF YOU LIVE IN A RENTAL, AN APARTMENT OR TOWNHOME, PLEASE BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE US WITH A COPY OF YOUR LANDLORD'S PET POLICY.

Gunnar has had a rough start to life, but has been doing very well in the loving care of his DRM foster family. Gunnar loves to go out with his foster dad and meet new people, he has learned that is the way he can get petted and spoiled. He does well with older children and loves to play ring around the island with his foster boy! Gunner is the perfect example of a "velcro" dobe, if he does not think he is getting enough attention he will plop right down on his foster dad's feet and work his way in-between his legs for a good petting session! Gunner has been around small dogs and just wants to play. Gunner is a big, goofy boy who loves his bones and his big red kong. He loves nothing better than to play fetch with his ball. The Application can be downloaded from the website, or feel free to email to request one. www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org Indepth application, references and a home check will be required before adoption is completed. Anyone wanting to adopt a German Shepherd MUST have knowledge about their needs. These are very intelligent dogs that need lots of exercise, both physically and mentally. Please discuss and consider if you are now, and will be in the foreseable future, in a financial position to provide to the dogs needs, unexpected vet bills, and common health issues specific to the breed. Maximus was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick-disease tested; Negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 8 August 2014 and has an estimated weight of 50 pounds, however since being at the rescue he has gained some weight so most likely more like 60 pounds at the current time. He still has a good amount of weight to gain. Maximus is listed as a Doberman Pinscher and although he looks very much like this breed, we have no way of knowing his true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think his breed/s is. It is important to note that Maximus is a high energy, intelligent, working breed dog and you really need to be experienced with this breed, or at least have done a lot of research, have support and confident you have the lifestyle to accommodate this stunning boy. When Maximus came into the rescue he was extremely thin, fearful of lots of things, didn't like other dogs near him, cowered a lot and had wounds on his head. He had clearly been abused and neglected. With patience and time Maximus has learnt to enjoy life. I had let small puppies hang out with him so that he can get used to other dogs that are none threatening, but also persistent and it was nice watching him at first keep getting up and move when they came near him, to accept them and let them cuddle with him. I introduced him to more dogs and he has since become best friends with a Siberian husky here in the rescue, they wrestle, chase, play and hang out all the time together, it is great to see how much he has progressed. Maximus has also gained some good weight, he still has a long way to go to get to the weight that he should be and build up his muscle mass, but he is eating healthily. I do free free so this helps him to eat throughout the day when he is hungry. Maximus now hangs out wish 7 other dogs of all ages and sizes, he gets on great with them, although is best friends with the husky. If any of the other dogs come near the food bowl when he is eating, he will give a very slight growl, but when the husky is there he lets her share with him. He is not aggressive and for the most part the other dogs ignore him and go and eat and he accepts that. I believe it is just with him having clearly been starving at some point he wants to make sure he has enough to eat. I would not say he is food aggressive at all and I have never seen any kind of aggression with him. When Maximus first came to the rescue he was not house trained at all, but he has learnt to use the dog door and now finally is going out to do his business and has learnt that inside is not the place for this. He will need to learn to let you know he wants to go outside as here he has 24/7 access to the dog door, but he is a very smart boy and I am sure will pick this up very easily. Maximus is learning to enjoy affection, although it is not something he yet craves, but is accepting and wanting it more as time goes by. He loves getting treats and gets excited when I go in to spend time with him and his friends. He loves to chew on the cow hooves and wil hoard a few so he can be sure he has plenty to chew on. We do NOT have cats at the rescue so are unable to say how she would get on with cats. Maximus is going to need a family that is used to high energy, smart dogs, preferably someone who is familiar with the Doberman breed. Someone who understands that he will need training and guidance and learns that humans are in charge so that he doesn't get too much of a handful. A very active family who can give him the lifestyle that he needs. Playing ball in the back-yard is not enough for this boy he is going to need a lot of physical and mental exercise. Going on road trips, to new places, hikes and adventures and letting her explore the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer will be to his and your benefit. It is important that her family understands the importance of basic and advanced training. We advise that families work on their own basic training so that boundaries and expectations can be set and personalities and body language learnt in the process, which will help form a much stronger bond. Maximus will make a great family addition to an experienced family. He is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call his own. I do feel he would benefit from a family with another dog so he can continue to enjoy playing and being a dog, something he clearly has never experienced until life at the rescue. Maximus is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org Maximus is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
