Posted Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart! Mary Lou has been stealing hearts since her arrival at TJO. She is a friendly, outgoing, high energy dog who will need support from her new owner to learn how to be the best dog she can be. OTHER PETS: Mary Lou is friendly but some dogs might be uncomfortable with her frontal, exhuberant approach. For the best match, Mary Lou should meet any dog she would be living with. [Case by Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Mary Lou will be best supported by someone who has experience with dogs and will be able to commit to providing the support she needs. [Some Experience] KIDS: Mary Lou takes a while to settle after playing, and can get carried away in her exhuberance. She would do best living with humans who were teens or older. As with all our dogs, she should meet any minor children she would be living with prior to adoption. [13+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mary Lou has a high evergy level and needs the opportunity to burn off her energy throughout the day. She would be a good walker/jogger/hiker and with support and training could be a fun adventure buddy or could participate in activities like agility / lure coursing / etc. [Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Mary Lou will benefit from positive reinforcement training; it will help her regulate her behavior, bond with her new owner, and build her confidence.
