furever family. You may have noticed I have been hangin' out here for awhile and I would soooo love to find a special family of my own who understands we big luggy guys so let's get properly introduced. I am an approximately 5 1/2 year old American Bulldog. I am a friendly, mature, mannerly and mellow fellow seeking the same in a quiet home where I can laze away the day with my favorite things - lots of love, attention, an occasional stroll, a tour in the car, a heart to heart gab and a welcoming lap to lay my head on for plenty of ear scratches. In the custom of we Americans as you can see I am a handsome, sturdy yet athletic fellow having recently completed an extensive fitness program. I am loyal and determined at times and look to the same in my family with calm, consistent, and patient leadership. My foster pawrent has worked exceedingly hard with all that uuhh hummm former life luggage stuff to bring me where I am today - a well rounded, reliable and wonderful companion. I must admit though that I am a bit discerning on a few arrangements. I would do best in a home without small children and I may be somewhat discriminating on the canine companions so ideally I am probably best as a single roomy in that respect. Alrighty a few of those more practical details:- My adoption fee is $350. I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, heart worm & tick diseases tested negative & preventatives given. If you feel you may be the family to welcome me into your heart and home as your new furever friend PLEASE complete the application found at this link form.jotform/72823870527260 or email us directly at bbbcrescuegmail with full contact information to open discussions and learn more about our adoption process. A volunteer will be happy to help you and we just request your patience as we are volunteers doing our best to handle all the day to day needs of our dogs, our busy rescue and our families. PLEASE note that we adopt only within the province of Ontario and preference will be given to potential adopters within our local areas provided they qualify and are the best fit for our dog. Thanks everyone!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
