th eyes. Unfortunately at different times each eye was removed. Despite having diabetes and both eyes removed, Bianca is very confident, independent, sassy and spunky. Pretty sure she knows her eyes are missing, but she does not let that hinder her. Her foster home has a dog door with a ramp. Bianca knows the layout and trucks in and out very successfully. Her diabetes is totally under control now. She eats a prescription dog food and gets an insulin shot after each meal. The bag of prescription dog food and vial of insulin lasts a couple months, so diabetes is not actually any more costly than any other illness. She gets along wonderfully with the other furkids in her home, after proper introductions of course. She needs to know who is in her pack so she feels safe. She is very close to another 18 year old diabetic in the home. She grooms and cuddles with him daily. She loves to be on the couch with her buddy or humans. Bianca will do a bark if she is lost so her humans can talk to her to find her way to them. Other than that she is not very vocal. She will talk to you with muffled growls to tell you how her day is going, or if you disturbed her sleep. She is just a little ham. She does try to play with her best friend as best she can. He is so gentle with her. If Bianca is standing in the middle of a room by herself, he will stand next to her so she is not alone. Bianca walks confidently with a harness on a leash. She just needs talked to so she can follow you, or alongside another 4 legged friend. She might be a little too curious with cats so not a good idea to go to a home with cats. Due to no eyes Bianca needs to go to a home with older children. She is able to navigate a few steps but not flights of stairs. A home check is required to be sure she could function safely in the home and yard. Bianca is crate trained but does have an occasional accident if left longer than she is used to. Bianca has many good years left. She would love to find her furever family and live happily ever after. Due to her diabetes she does need to be on a schedule. Adopting Bianca is definitely a commitment, not a decision to be made without weighing the pros and cons. But diabetes does not mean hours of extra time either, just an extra minute for the insulin shot, or to be taken to the vet for glucose checks periodically. Millions or billions of humans live with this dreaded disease.
