day – rain or shine or snow, it doesn’t matter I love it all! I go a little stir crazy if I can’t stretch my legs!! My foster family has been working on walking with me – they say I walk really fast and I should stop and smell the roses and appreciate the outside (or walk slower and by their side), I think they need to take up running 😊 I am fully house trained and crate trained. I do know basic commands like sit and stay (working on this), quiet as well as some tricks like spin and high five! I love my food, well all food, so to help me learn new things all you need are some treats. I will also let you know when I need to go outside or really want some exercise by sitting by the door, and I might talk a bit too to get your attention. I am also good with kids! My foster family has two kids 6 and 8 years old and I love to play with them, and cuddle on the couch. Sometimes I get really excited and jump up on them or their laps when they are on the couch to give them kisses. My foster family thinks I would do great in a house with kids 6 and up who are familiar with dogs. Can we talk about baths? I love them – especially getting out of them, they give me the zoomies! And lets be real – who doesn’t like zoomies? The one thing my foster family says I need to work on the most, is socialization with other dogs. I did grow up with an older pug and he was my buddy! But I don’t know how to react to other dogs when I see them out on walks or meet them. My foster parents say I may need a trainer to help me out with this, so I would do best in a house without another dog – or cat. I also love to cuddle! The couch is my second favourite place to curl up besides my crate and sometimes I try to be a lap dog. I mean who doesn’t like snuggle, and I am definitely a snuggle bug! I do really like my foster family – however – I am really looking forward to finding my forever home! Think that we can be a match?! Bryndle Currently being fostered in Whitby. PLEASE NOTE- no dogs/ or cats please

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
