on to the NE US is available upon adoption-Please visit their website at: http://www.uberdogart.com/ The weekend of 3/3/17 is Route 1 so please check that link for the nearest stop to you. 2.26.17 SADIE is full of love, such a wonderful sweethearted little gal :) She is a 21 month old Miniature Pinscher - Chihuahua mix weighing 17 pounds. Her birthday is 6/1/2015, so she will be 2 years old this June :) SADIE is kind of shy - but when she knows that you love her, and that she can trust you? Those sweet eyes of hers just melt your heart! She looks into your eyes, those sweet eyes just melt your heart, and tell you everything that you need to know. She loves so deeply. She loves people - men, women and children. It helps to let her come to you in order to be petted and loved. Otherwise, if you or someone else goes towards her? Something in her past has caused this to kind of frighten her. As a rescued dog, we do not know what all has possibly happened to her - we only want to make her feel comfortable :) I move my hand slowly up underneath her chin to pet her, and she is so very OK with that :) She likes it when you are sitting down; that way, she can lightly jump up onto your leg, look at you with those precious eyes, and you just can't help but reach down and rub her head or her tummy :) SADIE needs someone to love her and treat her like the little princess that she is. She deserves a life where she feels so very comfortable and so very loved; a life where she will never ever have any worries ever again. Sadie loves all of the other foster dogs. She is not a barker; the only time she barks is if someone comes into the yard when she is outside, or to the door when she is inside, so she is a good little alert dog :) Sadie is very calm. Once you let her know that you have things to do, and are through petting her, she will go to her blanket or her bed and lie down. She is the perfect little sidekick for I think an adult, more than a child. She LOVES to play when someone has a laser light, she chases it and tries to catch it ! Not much energy must be expended on your part! Sadie and her sister Sassy have never been apart. They were rescued as puppies from a shelter. They can be adopted together - or separate. HOWEVER: I honestly feel that SADIE would develop her own unique personality if she were adopted by herself. I do see that she would love this, her sister gets in her way of receiving love from me. SADIE is the more loving of the two, has no aggressive nature at all, just a sweet, loving girl. SADIE has been microchipped - we will transfer the microchip into your name upon adoption and provide you with the information needed. SADIE's adoption donation is $325 which covers all the vet care she has received, flea-tick-heartworm preventative, cocchidia and giardia preventative, and 100% of all the fees associated with her microchip. Please contact krun11@sbcglobal.net for any questions ! Thank you SO MUCH for wanting to help a rescued dog!! Please visit www.arruff.org where you can download and save an application, fill it out, then return it to krun11@sbcglobal.net -- or we can email one to you, whichever is easiest for you :) This available pet is currently located in Benton, AR. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
