the “special feature” of this rescue pack and I hang with my buddy Kreature all day long ! I’m a pure bred, full grown 3 year old spayed female American Bully (w/ LOTS of French Bulldog back blood, just wait until you hear all the assorted snorts I've accomplished!) ~ a true POCKET PIT who's known to be a total house dog that aims to please her people! I'm a very sweet and super intelligent love muffin PLUS I’ll snuggle ALL day long! While we realize this listing indicates I'm an American Staffordshire Terrier (there's no designation for my breed in the listing programs yet), I'm really a pure bred “American Bully”! We're a newer, special, improved version of the bully breedings via the Gotti and Razor's Edge bloodlines. As typically noted in the American Bully's, I have a SUPER stable, even temperament so I'm CALM, highly intelligent, EASY to train, super AFFECTIONATE, extremely GENTLE and very WELL BEHAVED indoors knowing that's the place to be kicked back. I’m a calm, QUIET, gentle young Lady who has spent her entire life in an indoor home so I’m easy going indoors (and out) and always display impeccable manners, lounging quietly at your feet with a favorite bone to be the perfect companion. And, I even sit nicely for treats (immediately AND without being asked, thank you very much :) I love to play with toys, fetch the ball and especially enjoy touring in an automobile, playing with children and engaging in just about anything that makes you happy so that we can spend family time together! I have a heart of gold, and am super good with children because I love humans of all sizes :) I learn really quickly and love to please, especially in response to an experienced, calm, assertive pack leader that I respect making my outer beauty a mere reflection of my stellar personality, I’m a total house dog who’s gets along GREAT with other dogs and children because I looooove everyone I meet ~ won’t YOU be my forever friend(s) !?! Why wait??? Contact us via our petabulls.com website or simply call Mare at (505)316-2089 for a private "By Appointment Only" showing at our weekly "Adoptions in the Park" !!! PLEASE include YOUR phone number on all inquiries as we are rarely around the computer during this busy season :)

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
