ri/aa Adoption Donation $ 599 Located: RI Age: approx 8 months Weight: 70lbs NOT Hypoallergenic/No kids under 10 Frankie has to be one of the happiest, friendliest and most fun dogs around! He has a sweet, loving, silly personality and is absolutely adorable. It’s near impossible to be unhappy around him! This guy has a real zest for life, a love of the outdoors and an endless amount of energy (and not just puppy energy)! He will come home from a 4 mile walk/run only to continue playing in the yard with his dog pals. Frankie needs physically active humans who share his love of the outdoors and adventure. He needs daily long walks, hikes or runs. He will keep you fit, active and entertained! As Frankie is a ball of energy and loves his dog pals, Adopters MUST have another larger dog and a fenced yard with room for them to run, chase and wrestle! Frankie also LOVES the water!! If there is water, he will find it! His dream is to find a family who shares this love and will ensure he gets to enjoy it as much as possible. Frankie is just as snuggly and sweet as he is playful and will nuzzle his nose in your neck wrapping his paws around you. He LOVES belly rubs and being scratched and will stretch out anywhere for anyone to shower him with attention. He is VERY social, people friendly and amazingly well behaved in public places, even with a ton of other dogs around! Whether it be a trip to Home Depot or hanging out at a brewery, he’s game! He's still a pup and has to learn basic manners and such but he's a smart fellow and eager to please. Frankie would not be a good match for an older, less playful, timid or small dog as he can be a bit too much. No resident kids under 10 due to his energy level or kitty cats as they are too much fun to chase! His foster mom just loves him (as does everyone else who meets him) and hopes someone else gets to see just how special a guy he really is! If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website .fohari and email my foster parent for more information: Delirium65aol Please check out our website for how to Adopt, Adoptions events, Fostering and more! .fohari Normally we do not process applications unless a specific dog is selected, along with submitting a deposit of $200 using our Paypal Donate link. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
