rements and specifics for this dog. Websites such as Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet may not show all the information that we have listed. FOSTER PARENT COMMENTS: Isaac is the smallest of the boys and the only boy that looks just like sweet Raven. He's quiet and not a big whiner. He doesn't eat as much as the other ones do. But he is healthy and growing. He plays with them a lot but is not an aggressive player. Isaac is looking for his forever home and hopes you will consider him! EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Isaac is one of Raven's puppies. Raven was in a shelter and her time was getting short. Plus, the shelter felt she was probably pregnant. The shelter contacted rescue groups to see if anyone could admit this momma- to -be quickly. BFPA had a wonderful foster who said she would love to help this dog so we admitted her into our group. On June 11th, Raven gave birth to 10 puppies including Isaac. There are 5 females and 5 males. They are all looking for their forever homes now. Isaac and the other puppies will be available for trial adoptions beginning the first week in August after their first set of vaccines. The puppies will need to remain in the adopters home/yard to ensure that they are not exposed to dangerous viruses until they have their second set of vaccines approximately one month later. They will not be able to go to dog parks, doggie day care, other yards, etc. before getting their second vaccines. Isaac's adoption will be finalized after he is neutered, so the adoption trial period will be longer than normal. BFPA pays for all medical costs until adoptions are finalized. If you are interested in adopting Isaac or any of these puppies, please complete an application using the link below. If you are approved, you can meet the foster Mom and Isaac as well as all the puppies. Each one is different in looks and personality! Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. We do home visits to finalize adoptions and/or deliver the adopted dog. ADOPTING A YOUNG PUPPY FROM BFPA: Requires that you live no further than a 30-mile radius from the Triangle area of North Carolina, as you must be close enough for us to meet all the medical procedures we cover before final adoption. We prefer to adopt young puppies to a single, couple or family who have previous experience owning a dog and live in a single family house rather than an apartment, condo or townhome. Any children in the home under 6 years old must have experience living with a dog in their home. INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ISAAC ? 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
