and loves to hang his head out of the window on car rides. He is good with dogs his size and kids at least 13 years old. He has lots of energy and will knock younger kids over without meaning to do it. Cocoa has spent a lot of his life tied up outside so there are a lot of things that are new to him. He needs some basic leash training and needs to learn some manners when greeting people and dogs. Cocoa needs a fenced yard. An adopter should have some experience with big dogs. Our adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
