n shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. We have got a BonJovial Bunch of PUPPIES just waiting to meet YOU! Chase BonJovi is one of five boys in this stunning litter of eight! Every one of these pups is absolutely gorgeous. They appear to be a blend of Labrador Retriever and Terrier born on April 21st of this year. Chase is your typical puppy needing to work on all those big dog skills. Currently potty training and crate training are in progress; he has not had any leash training yet. He's great with kids and other dogs - kitty cats are an unknown. Obedience classes with his new person(s) will be an important part of his continued education, socialization, confidence building and will help with the bonding process. It's also super fun! A fenced yard is the ideal safe place for your new family member to run and work on perfecting his game of fetch, but if it's not an option then lots of daily leash walks with opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park will work just fine. To exercise his canine mind, think puzzle toys and games. Chase rides well in the car and LOVES the water so...BEACH TRIP! This playful, affectionate fellow also likes toys and cuddling. Chase is the prettiest light grayish brindle color with white on his chest and back toes. In his photos it looks like he might also have beautiful blue eyes. If you've been looking for just the right fur-kid to add to your family, Chase BonJovi would love to have you fill out an application today for him! He's got lots of puppy love saved up just for you! The BonJovi Pups Backstory: Chase and his siblings were born to mama Kaya at a Houston, Texas, construction site. When first met by our Texas rescue partner, Kaya cowed her head and seemed afraid, like she'd been abused. It was apparent that she'd been on her own for a long time - every bone in her spine was visible. She was very sweet though and let herself be petted, and let our partner take each pup for weighing. When the pups were six weeks old and got their first shots, Kaya remembered our partner and greeted her happily with excitement and a wagging tail. She loved the attention, the petting and being talked to. She's a super sweet girl and is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Adoption Fee: $550 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
