n shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. The Super Bowl game may be over, but the Super Bowl Pups are just getting started! Mama Super Bowl gave birth to ten super beautiful puppies while in foster care in Tennessee. She didn't have quite enough milk to go around so three of the pups, Brady (adopted), Sidney (adopted) and Wentz, were bottle-raised; the other seven were breast-fed, Brooklyn, Jacqueline, Julie, Liza, Mickey, Taxi and Trigger. Mama and two of her pups have been adopted and now it's time for each of the rest of these puppers to find a furever home! They appear to be a Labrador Retriever/Hound mix about 2.5 months old. House training is in the works, as are crate training and learning to walk on a leash. They're pretty obedient for puppies and can't wait to go to obedience class so they can learn lots of cool stuff, meet new doggies and people, build some confidence - and spend some quality bonding time with you! A fenced yard is the ideal safe place for these kids to romp and play fetch (a favorite pastime), but if that's not an option then daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park or at doggie daycare will get them the exercise they need. To exercise those busy little minds, think puzzle toys and games. Happy and healthy, Trigger is so handsome with his shiny black coat, a white patch on his chest and all those white toes - he also has some brindle markings. He's great with kids, cats and other dogs; playful, affectionate and puppy-goofy! He's your typical puppy exhibiting typical puppy behavior. If you have the time, patience and energy to help him become the best canine pal he can be, fill out an application today! Trigger Super Bowl knows with him, you'll score a touch down! Adoption Fee: $550 To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
