I am Kugel and I am about 2 years old and 13 pounds.
Some of my favorite activities include playing with my squeaky toys, racing around the yard with my foster sibling, and mealtimes. Don't even get me started on the joy of food! I like to chew at times, but mainly, I just carry my squeaky toys around. I only tried to chew on a couple things I wasn't supposed to, but there were other dogs there before, so it was confusing. Would be good to keep an extra eye out, just in case. I wonder what would happen if I ate a watermelon seed. Would a watermelon grow in my tummy?
Life in a home is new to me and there is so much to learn! I'm quiet and shy around people and getting comfortable with all my new activities. When approached or picked up , I am unsure at first, but then enjoy being pet and being near my humans. I have a feeling, I will end up being a great lap pet someday.
Like many other pups, I'm hard at work on my dog goals. My house breaking is coming along and I already am crate trained. I simply lie down and rest when I'm in it. I'm not fully on board with the harness/leash yet, but we practice regularly. I've been known to be a wiggle worm when wearing a harness, so I'll need my future family to have one that will keep me secure and safe. I can help you shop for it. :)
My foster dad is teaching me about the good dog life and I really like it so far. One day at a time. I hope that you will choose me to come home with you, so we can live the good life together!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
