pecially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 03/26/2025 (originally November 2017) Reason for being in rescue: Charlie was originally surrendered to rescue by his owners in early November 2017. He arrived back in rescue in May 2025 when his owner could no longer care for him. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 07/08/2025 he had a dental polishing. Charlie has urinary incontinence. He eats a special food diet because of his Urinary incontinence, but don't worry! We know EXACTLY what food he needs and have done all of the guess work for you Weight: 12.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 - I am priceless Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Charlie is the perfect companion if you're looking for a loyal, laid-back friend. He loves belly rubs, quiet walks, and curling up next to you for a cozy nap. His calm demeanor makes him a great fit for families, seniors, or anyone who appreciates a peaceful pup with lots of love to give. Charlie gets along wonderfully with gentle dogs and respectful kiddos, and he's quick to win over anyone he meets, with his soulful eyes and calm, loving nature it's hard not to love him! What Charlie Needs - A calm, respectful home, frequent potty breaks and understanding of his incontinence, his beloved U/d food (wet preferred—His Majesty insists!) and a lap to claim, and a heart to call his own. Charlie may be small, but his presence is mighty. He’s not looking for a circus—he’s looking for a castle. And in return, he’ll give you all the cuddles, loyalty, and love a true king can offer. Whether you're lounging on the couch or taking a leisurely stroll, Charlie is happiest when he's by your side. Charlie will not do well in an apartment or a townhome as he barks and cries when you leave. He just wants to see you and be with you 24/7. He loves you that much! Charlie would thrive in a calm, loving environment where he can be pampered like the little king he is. What is my personality like? Meet Charlie – The King of Comfy, the Prince of Pets, and Your Next Loyal Lap Companion. Charlie is a noble little Pekingese with a lion’s mane and a heart of gold. At just a glance, you’ll see the royal air he carries with him—and if you ask him, he’s already claimed your lap as his throne. Charlie isn’t looking to rule a kingdom of chaos. He’s not here for wrestling matches, tug-of-war, or fetch marathons. He’s a chill guy, through and through. While he's not rude to other dogs, he much prefers his own space and would be happiest as your one-and-only. He's just used to being a one-man band. What Charlie does love - Walks. The moment you show him a leash, he barks with joy and excitement, ready to strut his stuff and let the wind blow through his majestic fur. He walks like a seasoned pro, staying close by your side, soaking in the world with calm contentment. When he's not out taking in the fresh air, you’ll find him sunbathing like a little emperor, eyes closed, nose in the breeze, living his best life. Charlie is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He lives for gentle pets, cozy cuddles, and being close to his person. He’ll happily curl into your lap and stay there for hours, quietly soaking up your love like the royal sponge he is. But even kings have their quirks, and Charlie’s come with a bit of royal maintenance. He has some urinary incontinence, so he needs a family who understands this and can give him frequent potty breaks throughout the day. Luckily, Charlie isn’t picky about food—he LOVES his wet U/d prescription diet, and you’ll never have to guess what he wants at mealtime. Just scoop, serve, and watch him dine like royalty. So, if you're ready to serve snacks, offer snuggles, and treat him with the dignity he so gracefully deserves—Charlie is ready to rule your heart. How do I act when I first meet new people? Charlie is a happy boy who loves meeting new people. He's the perfect go everywhere with you companion. Other tips and tidbits: We celebrate Charlie's birthday 11/30/2015 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
