in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 06/27/25 Reason for being in rescue: seized by law enforcement cruelty/abuse case Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rebel is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 33 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Rebel is 33lbs of chunky bulldog love! His love is ALL for humans and he's looking for a home that gets that. He's done living with other dogs and wants nothing to do with it. No playdates. No doggie daycare. No dog parks. No apartment or townhome like. Just you and your bulldog, living your best life. Bulldogs are awesome dogs. They are also stubborn dogs. And Rebel fits the bill perfectly. He needs a some with someone that knows the breed and is committed to positive reinforcement training. He needs someone that understands he does not play nicely with other dogs and isn't going to try to force him into that. He'll reward you with the happiest grunts, deepest snores, and biggest smiles! What is my personality like? Meet Rebel – Your One and Only Royal Highness. Rebel is here to declare one very important thing: he is ready to be your One and Only. Your one dog, your best friend, your ride-or-die companion. No playdates, no doggy socials, no surprise visitors of the four-legged variety—Rebel wants all the glory (and the couch) to himself. This charming French Bulldog has spent his life surrounded by other dogs, growing up in a breeder’s home where space was shared and attention was split. But Rebel has bigger dreams. Dreams of being the center of someone's world, the king of the castle, the apple of your eye, and possibly your shadow. Rebel loves people—like really loves them. He’s happiest by your side, whether you’re binge-watching a series, hitting the drive-thru, or heading out on a weekend errand run. If you’re going somewhere, he’s already by the door. Now, let’s talk honesty: Rebel is not a dog for other dogs. He’s not the dog-park type. He’s not interested in “making new furry friends.” He doesn’t want to share his space, his snacks, or his humans. And that’s okay! He’s got more than enough love to give just you. Rebel will need to learn the basics of home life and training—sit, stay, maybe a little impulse control around snacks (honestly, same)—but he’s smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn. With a little guidance and a lot of treats, he’ll be the well-mannered king you never knew you needed. If your home is a dog-free zone, and your heart has space for one special someone, Rebel is ready to move in and take the throne. How do I act when I first meet new people? Rebel loves people. He will greatly you happily and like the bold little tank that he is. Other tips and tidbits: Based on his overall health and condition, Rebel has been aged at 3 years old by our veterinarian. We celebrate his birthday 07/27/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
