Foster Home Feedback ** No cats ** Not apartment friendly 8/15/25 Foster Feedback: Meet Sunny Bear, an irresistible fluffball with a heart of gold, whose mission in life is to be your most devoted and cuddly companion! This sweet honey is yearning for someone to cherish her with endless snuggles and affection. Sunny's perfect home would be a quiet and calm one where she can be the center of attention. She would thrive with a companion who is home often and can dedicate time to reinforcing her training and providing plenty of love and reassurance. Given her vocal nature, a home with no shared walls is preferred, as she expresses herself with enthusiastic barks, particularly when left alone. Her ideal adopter would be someone who understands the needs of a Pomeranian and appreciates their spirited personality. Sunny gets along well with our dogs, showing polite indifference to their playful antics. She enjoys sharing a doggie bed for a cozy cuddle, but her main focus is on her human companions rather than canine playmates. Sunny is not a candidate for a home with cats. The sight of our cat makes her quite anxious and she becomes very focused on finding and barking at our resident cat. Despite our attempts at positive exposure, she continues to react aggressively. A cat-free home is essential for her well-being. Sunny loves to snuggle up in bed with her people at night, and her favorite spot is curled up by your side. For safety when we're away, we've kenneled her for short periods, but she does express her displeasure with extended barking. She seems more comfortable in her kennel when she can see her people. During car rides, she's happiest and safest in her kennel, as she will try to sneak onto your lap to be closer to you. Sunny Bear is potty trained, though she may have an occasional accident when she's overcome with excitement. We've found that keeping a consistent schedule and offering plenty of potty breaks has been helpful in minimizing accidents. Sunny displays some signs of separation anxiety and thrives in a home where she feels secure. She's looking for a patient and understanding companion who can work with her on building confidence and managing her anxiety. Sunny Bear is a truly special girl, brimming with love and affection, and she's ready to dedicate her heart to her forever family. If you're looking for a best friend to snuggle with and to fill your life with love, Sunny Bear could be the perfect match for you! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
