an 11-month-old Hound/Mastiff mix who is as sweet as she is stunning. Weighing 53 pounds currently, Magnolia is still growing, young and playful, but she has a calmness that makes her a wonderful companion. She loves to run and play outside but is just as happy curling up on a dog bed or laying at your feet indoors. Magnolia greets every day with a big, happy smile and has a way of making those around her feel loved. She’s friendly with people and dogs alike, enjoying both playtime in the yard and quiet moments with her person. While she’s playful, her heart truly belongs to her human—she adores affection and always wants to be near you. She’s been wonderful with the dogs in her foster home, showing respect to the older pups while happily joining in games of chase with the younger ones. This smart girl already knows “sit,” “no,” and “off,” and she quickly learned to use the dog door. She’s housetrained, sleeps soundly through the night, and has shown no destructive behaviors beyond normal young-dog curiosity. She does not love being crated but has become crate-trained as well. Magnolia would thrive in a home with a tall fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and soak up the sunshine. She’d love the company of another friendly dog but would be just as happy focusing her loyalty on her person. Because of her size, she’d do best in a home with children over six. With a little more training, Magnolia is the kind of dog who could go anywhere with you—a sweet, loyal, and loving companion ready to brighten every day. If she sounds like the girl for you, contact us today! Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: aarf-tn/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: aarf-tn/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) aarf-tn/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
