Blackberry is a sweet, gentle pup with a soft heart and even softer fur. He is a lower to medium energy companion who enjoys quiet cuddle time, playing with other dogs, and relaxing in his crate. Blackberry is still building confidence, so he would thrive in a calm home with patient adopters who are excited to help him continue coming out of his shell. He feels most at ease around other dogs and loves to play once he’s had a little time to get to know them. He hasn’t been around cats, but his gentle temperament suggests he would likely do well with a dog-savvy feline. Blackberry doesn’t always approach people on his own yet, but once he is with you, he melts into your lap and adores affection. He’s learning that being loved is a wonderful thing. Blackberry is fully house trained and has done very well in his crate, often choosing to rest there even when the door is open. He is comfortable being crated for seven to eight hours during the day and has not had accidents. He is improving on leash and would benefit from continued slow, positive exposure to walks and new surroundings. Though initially timid, he warms up quickly and responds well to gentle encouragement.
