House training is coming along nicely—Hippo keeps her crate clean and usually signals when she needs to go out, though her timing is quick. She’s fully crate-trained, happily going in at night or when her humans are away, and she often chooses her crate as a cozy resting spot. She’s food-motivated and eager to please, making training a breeze. She’s done wonderfully with other dogs—reading their signals well, joining in for play, or just hanging out. She loves playing with the other resident dogs in the home and with visiting friends. She loves kids, though her enthusiasm means she’s best matched with older or sturdier ones who won’t mind a playful bump. Cats are unknown, but we’re guessing she’d want to play. Playtime is Hippo’s favorite! She has never met a toy she doesn’t like. Soft and fluffy, hard for a great chewing session, squeaky, quiet…. Bring ‘em on! She loves fetch (even if she sometimes forgets the “return” part), and tug-of-war. She enjoys a couple of good play sessions each day plus a short walk, and she's great on a leash! When she's all done, she's excited to snuggle up close, soaking in all the affection she can get.
