, a bit of a gas-powered love machine. Think less “sweet fragrance of spring” and more “who dropped the bomb?!” In true bully-breed fashion, this girl can clear a room faster than a bad dad joke — and not even blink an eye while doing it. But honestly, when you see her goofy grin, you’ll forgive her every time. Reece has been a little mystery to us — she came with some tummy troubles that took a while to solve. After some detective work (and a lot of air freshener), we finally cracked the case! She’ll need to stay on a high-fiber prescription diet for life, and no sneaky snacks, no matter how much she gives you the “I’m melting” eyes. ️ She also dines like a queen from a raised feeder because of a few esophagus quirks, and she does best when kept calm after meals (no zoomies immediately post-dinner, ma’am!). Reece has never been on a leash so a secured fenced in yard is needed. She’s great with other pups, though she can toss that blocky head around when she feels a little bossy — typical big-sister energy. Reece’s favorite thing in the world is you. She’s your shadow, your cheerleader, your four-legged Velcro buddy. When you leave, she gets a little anxious — she just loves her people that much. She’s on some mild anxiety meds that help her remember that it’s okay to relax, breathe, and trust that her humans are always coming back. ❤️ When left alone, she settles nicely in her kennel with her blankie and stuffed toy, waiting for her favorite person to walk through the door. Miss Reece came to us as a breeder release, which means no one had ever taken the time to figure out why her tummy was giving her so much trouble. Through lots of vet visits, tests, and trial-and-error (and maybe a few extra cans of air freshener), we finally found the right path to help her feel good again. She’s a sweetheart who’s been through more than she deserved, but now she’s healthy, happy, and ready to toot her way right into your heart. ❤️ Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website .wagsmn and fill out an Adoption Application. Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet! A home visit is required prior to adoption. Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination: Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue. We do not guarantee this determination.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
