s, thanks to a fabulous shelter volunteer who gave me a ride to safety. I can’t believe how lucky I am!
Today has been quite the adventure! I got a super cozy bath and a fancy mani/pedi because my nails were a bit too long for everyone’s liking. I feel fresh and snuggly now!
After my pampering, I got to hang out with some amazing resident shepherds at my temporary foster home. They were so friendly, and we had lots of fun together! I loved all their toys, too. My next stop is my current foster home, where I’ll spend five cozy days with two ShepHeroes alums and their cat—we’re already friends!
I sleep solidly through the night in my crate, have mastered the doggy door already, and head out to do my business promptly, preferring grassy parts of the lawn for pottying. I have also met the neighbors, including the toddler, and I was so gentle with her. If you sit on the floor, I happily will crawl into your lap for snuggles. I've also met Gus, the cat. I'm curious and, so far, not interested in chasing him. Bella has already shown me how to play tug with toys, when we're not playing I easily entertain myself with toys.
I may be a petite girl, weighing in at 14 lbs, but I assure you I have a big heart. I love toys and other doggos, and I’m pretty sweet and brave, too. After five days, I’ll be moving to another foster home with a resident shepherd, where I'll stay until I find my forever family.
In the meantime, I’m getting something called Panacur with my evening meals for a few days, since the shelter I landed at doesn’t deworm dogs. My people said my belly is quite round, and they can help. I loved my meal, and my foster mom says she always adds extra ingredients. I’m a huge fan!
So, keep your paws crossed for me, and stay tuned for more updates on my journey!
My folks said they'll take over the rest of my post to share about their social media channels and how volunteering to foster saves lives like mine.
