on’t remember how I ended up there, but I’m grateful to be with Mostly Mutts now and in a wonderful foster home while I wait to find my new family! I came in heartworm positive, but I’ll be treated for that soon. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I like the dogs in my foster home, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or loud children as I’d like a nice calm home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a very sweet and gentle girl who’s a bit shy and timid, but once I feel safe, you’ll see a bit more of my happy, tail-wagging side shine through. I’m calm, cuddly, and quiet - the kind of easy pup who’s content to just relax by your side. I have a laid-back nature and a heart full of sweetness, and I’m sure to bring a soft, peaceful joy to my forever home. / Energy level: My energy level is pretty low right now as I settle into my foster home – around 2-4. I think it may increase as I become more comfortable and once I’m finished with my heartworm treatment and recovery period. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: In my foster home, I’m working on the ‘come’ command and my leash walking skills. / I have very good crate manners in my foster home, and I sleep well through the night in my crate. / I had accidents on the Mostly Mutts schedule and am making slow but promising progress in my foster home, so just know that I’ll need you to be patient and gentle with me regarding my potty manners. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I adore gentle affection and peaceful naps, especially when I can curl up in a cozy lap or be held close by someone I love. I enjoy soaking up the sunshine on the porch with my foster family, feeling the warmth on my fur, and playing with a few toys like I did at the shelter. What I’d really love most is a calm, quiet home where I can feel safe, cherished, and spend my days surrounded by love. / I’m afraid of loud noises and I wouldn’t want to live in a loud or busy home and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Sadly, I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, so I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that at the end of December 2025 and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please. I hope to be with my family before treatment starts! If you have a nice calm home, I think we’d do very well together. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
