e will quickly charm those around him once he feels safe and secure.
Larry forms strong bonds with both people and dogs, and once you’re in with him, he will snuggle right up with you! While he is not especially drawn to kids, he appears unbothered by them and he is friendly with cats and other dogs. He will require a confident, similarly-sized companion dog to help him to feel safe, build confidence, and adjust more comfortably to daily life.
Larry is an emotionally sensitive dog who needs an experienced, patient adopter who is willing to work with him to meet his full potential. He struggles with separation anxiety and does not do well when left alone, even with other dogs present. He can be quite vocal so he cannot live in a home with shared walls (no apartments/townhomes) and would do best with people who are home most of the time.
This young man is not fully house-trained and wears a belly band indoors, especially in new environments. With a consistent routine and at least three short potty walks per day, accidents are minimal. He can sleep in a kennel (in the bedroom) at night, and when he does he is an early riser, usually ready to start the day around 5:30–5:45 am! Alternatively, if he sleeps on your bed, you will likely be able to catch a few more zzzz’s!
Once Larry trusts you, he is incredibly sweet. He enjoys snuggling, playing, chewing on Nylabones, and tossing small plush or squeaky toys. His joyful zoomies are a fan favorite!
Given Larry has experienced multiple transitions during his short life (including being a breeder surrender and adoption return), he is looking for a committed adopter who can offer patience, consistency, obedience training, positive reinforcement, and lots of love. He is TOTALLY worth it!
In the right home—with another dog, plenty of companionship, and an understanding adopter—Larry has the potential to become a devoted, happy lifelong companion.
