is new foster home.
As a young pup, Trevor fell into the hands of a dog fighter who rejected him and even threatened to kill him because Trevor wouldn’t fight. Thankfully, an uncle intervened and saved his life. Still, Trevor spent his entire life outdoors: first chained, then confined to a small pen for years, unaltered and without basic veterinary care.
We met Trevor through the local spay/neuter program that Worthy Dog is proud to support. He was altered, and community volunteers stepped in to provide food, straw, and help with pen repairs, doing everything they could to improve his quality of life. Ultimately, it took Trevor being injured by another dog for him to finally be released to rescue.
Trevor has fully recovered and is now thriving in a foster home. What we’ve learned quickly is that everyone who meets Trevor loves him. He is a happy, sweet boy who deserves so much more than he’s ever had, and now, he’s finally getting his chance.
Trevor is currently being fostered by an active retired couple in an only-dog home. He has proven to have good house manners, does well in a crate, and truly lives to hang out and cuddle with his humans. His foster mom, Cheryl, initially crated him at night and when she left the house, and he simply naps. Trevor also enjoys walks and does well meeting new people and other dogs when he’s out and about.
Cheryl shared this update:
“Trevor is a sweet boy who loves to be around you. He will sit and cuddle with you, and whenever you get up, he gets up. He loves to walk and does well on a leash. Every once in a while, he’ll start to pull, but once you call his name, he stops. He was very friendly with my husband and me at the first meeting and really loves my husband. He also met a repair vendor who came to our house this morning and did great. He was very friendly and welcoming.
He has a moderate energy level. He enjoys walks and will play with a rope toy for a bit, but mostly he enjoys naps and hanging out with us. He has a good appetite and loves treats.”
