He was a well-known street dog living near the beach in Durres, where both tourists and local volunteers fed him every day. He became a familiar, friendly face&mdash;one of those dogs everyone looked forward to seeing. Then one day, Sammy showed up with a painful burn on his face. After speaking with neighbors and nearby businesses, it&rsquo;s believed someone threw a chemical on him. It&rsquo;s the kind of cruelty that happens when a good, trusting dog crosses paths with the wrong person. Because the person responsible is still in that area, returning Sammy to the streets would mean putting him right back in danger.
