My name is Cleetus and my foster family says I have the softest fur around! Not to toot my own horn, but they also tell me I'm the smartest puppy they've ever met! My foster mom is a positive reinforcement dog trainer so my training started early. We're currently working on basic skills like focus, sit, down, come, and leave it. Promoting manners and patience along the way! I don't even beg when my foster parents are eating dinner! I'm crate, house, and potty-trained already. I sleep in my crate throughout the entire night without a peep. Although I need a little more work with them, I'm familiar with leash-walking gear. I love adventure! Car rides are fine by me. What's that? You wonder if I'm friendly with strangers? You betcha! However, I have not been around many children so I may need more space around them. My foster family has dogs of their own who I enjoy playing with. But, I'm sure I would be fine as an only dog too! As long as I had time to play with other pups. I've met one cat before whom I am quite interested in so I may not be the best fit for a home with small animals. Speaking of small animals, I must be part Hound as I'm all about chasing down the scent of bunnies, squirrels, and birds. I'm a pretty quiet doggo with a moderate energy level. Although, I do get the zoomies now and then! I would be okay with someone who worked away from home as long as I was able to be walked during lunchtime. I've been known to stay content in my crate for up to 4 hours at a time. A fenced yard would be great but isn't necessary! I am familiar with a doggy door already so that's a plus if you have one! I would prefer a home that isn't an apartment unless you're a very active person who loves the outdoors. Being outside is so much fun! I love bonding with my humans and playing with tons of toys. A good game of tug is always awesome! So is wrestling with other doggos. I'm an all-around pretty cool pup who would love an outdoorsy companion to take me on hikes and swims at the lake. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
