American Bulldog
Originally used in the 17th century for bull baiting—a wagering sport in which dogs fought bulls in a ring—Bulldogs had taller, more athletic frames (much like the Olde English Bulldogge). When bull baiting was outlawed in 1835, Bulldogs were bred to be kinder, heavier and more relaxed. However, American Bulldogs—which were brought to the U.S. before this breeding pattern—retained the size and strength of the original Bulldogs. Great family dogs, American Bulldogs are sweet to children. They love family-oriented occasions and want to be involved. With proper training and socialization, you’ll find them outgoing and exceedingly loyal. Some American Bulldogs will go to great lengths to protect their masters. Tough and determined, American Bulldogs have an impressive stamina and strength. They are always game for playtime in the back yard or working in the field.
French Bulldog
Bouledogue Français, Frenchie
The French Bulldog is low key and enjoys lots of activity. He's well suited for either family living or attaching to just one special person. He can be a great watchdog, although will bark only when there is a real need.
English Bulldog
Bulldog
Named for its use in the sport of bull baiting, the English bulldog seems to have originated in the British Isles sometime prior to the 13th century. One of the few references to the sport dates back to 1209, and talks about a butcher's dogs that chased a bull through the English town of Stamford. This pursuit so pleased the earl of the town that he inaugurated bull baiting as a sport in his domain. Today, the English bulldog makes a fine family pet. The AKC recognizes the breed simply as the bulldog.
French Bull Weiner
The French Bull Weiner is a cross between an Dachshund and a French Bulldog. The French Bull Weiner is a hybrid or designer breed that was developed by crossing Dachshund and a French Bulldog. Though the breed was intended to be a 50/50 mix, many of the French Bull Weiner are bred over many generations and may not always be 50% and 50%. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. We currently do not have more detailed information for this breed.
Border Collie
Scottish Sheep Dog, Welsh sheep dog
The Border Collie enjoys working; if not actually herding sheep, he needs to be in the company of an athletic owner who will allow him to work out often. He's intelligent and eager to please, so makes a fine companion for active and attentive owners.
Jack Russell Terrier
A strong, active, little working Terrier of great character with flexible body of medium length. His smart movement matches his keen expression. Tail docking is optional and the coat may be smooth, rough or broken.
Doberman Pinscher
Doberman
Though Doberman Pinschers are large dogs, they are very graceful and a joy to behold. These make great watch dogs and companions, as they are brave and alert to any possible danger.
F2 Aussiedoodle
An F2 Aussiedoodle is a cross between two Aussiedoodles.
Cavachon
The Cavachon is a mix between a Charles Spaniel. This breed is good for people with allergies and adapts well to most living situations.
Shih Tzu
Chinese Lion Dog, Chrysanthemum Dog, Shih-Tzu
The Shih Tzu is a sweet and playful family companion. He's bolder than his small size suggests, but gets along well with strangers and other animals.
Boxer
German Boxer, Deutscher Boxer
The Boxer is surprisingly good with children. This breed has a playful nature, yet is patient and intelligent. With early training, a Boxer can provide a strong and watchful companion to all family members.
Havanese
Bichon Havanais, Havana Silk Dog, Bichon Havanese, Havaneser, Bichon Habanero
The Havanese is a small dog with lots of hair, including a tail that curls up over its back. It is affectionate and happy, making it a great family companion.
Alaskan Klee Kai
The Alaskan Klee Kai was bred to be a smaller version of the Alaskan Husky. They look like miniatures of that breed. They are loyal and protective companions.
