    rescue
    Breed: Golden Shepherd
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $475.00. Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Goldie is the perfect family dog or ranch dog in our estimation. Super friendly with everyone, tail wagger, easy going, well behaved. Raised with kids, dogs, and chickens, turkeys and other foul. Ignored horses and cattle as well. The foul ran loose and she ignored them all. That makes her a great dog in my book! She is a chunky dog and a recent mom so mammaries will need to pull up in about six weeks. But well worth waiting for because she is such a cute dog. Loves car rides but better have a big car as she fills the space! Goldie is that special girl that a famly can build memories around. She would love to be a part of your lifestyle and activities. A a ranch dog she is perfect. She does not wander and does not chase livestock. She just hangs out with tail wagging. She could also be a Condo or apartment dog if you are looking for that personal companion dog and want a dog to do things with and to hang out with. She would love enighborhood walks and time with her person. She would love a human to call her own. Goldie is very empathtic and attentive. This is not a back yard dog. She would be miserable. Adoption is $475.00 and includes her spay, shots, rabies, heart worm test, bordetella vaccine, de worming treatment, flea treatment given by our vet, and a chip. She comes with a 30 day trial. If interested in Goldie, please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us for a meet and greet by e-mailing us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. She wants that forever home where she can grow old in the arms of the people she loves. Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Golden Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Please contact Jenny Cope (giveadogahome@live.com), 207-852-7211 for more information about this pet. All pets adopted out will be spay/neutered, micro-chipped, de-wormed,heartworm tested, rabies and relevant vaccinations. NO DOG WILL BE ADOPTED TO BE AN OUTSIDE DOG! If you would like to start the adoption our process is below: Submit Application with two personal references and a vet reference. As long as we are able to contact your vet and references, it takes just 1-3 days to process and hopefully approve applications. Rescue processes and hopefully approves applications. Once approved, rescue invites applicant to come to the rescue to meet your chosen dog/s, spend time with him/her and then hopefully take him/her home. Once approved you are more than welcome to come and spend as long as you like with her/him . I just have to work on an appointment basis as I run a boarding/day care business and the rescue and so am really busy, but by planning ahead of time I can be pretty flexible. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org/adoption-application.html Honor was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas, where dogs generally have just 3 days to be saved before they are killed for space. Honor is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 20 November 2015 and weighs around 70.00 pound. He has been listed as a German Shepherd Dog / Golden Retreiver. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, so it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. Honor is located in the kennel building and is very chilled out when in his kennel, he will however bark and jump at the gate when another dog walks past, but he is learning to stop when told and is getting better. He just has a lot of energy he needs to expel, he is not aggressive in his ways, just wanting to get out and play. He uses the dog door to go outside to see what is going on and to do his business and at play time he absolutely loves to go and run and play in the snow. Being a Texas this is his first experience of snow and it is definitely something he enjoys. Honor has been out playing with other dogs and he is fine, with some of the other large male dogs, they have their little stand-off but it lasts a few seconds and then they are off exploring and playing. We do not have cats at the rescue, so have no idea how he would act around them. Although Honor is an adult he still acts as your typical "teenager" he is high energy, he is extremely smart, he will push your limits, but when he knows that there is no manipulating you and he respects you, then he is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is extremely affectionate, when sitting or lying close by he will lean into you he. He would make a great family dog, or companion to someone who wants that special buddy to take everywhere with them. Did I mention he loves the snow! We do not recommend dog parks for several weeks, if not months, it is so very important for families and dogs to form a strong bond and get to know each other before exposing them to the potential dangers of dog parks. Although all GaDaH dogs are very well socialized with other dogs, lots of other dogs have not had the benefit of this socialization and do not always know how to play and act with other dogs. You also do not know the control the other families have over their dogs and you should always have a good recall for your adopted dog before going to dog parks. Honor is a big strong boy and is full of energy and so a family with an active lifestyle is a huge bonus. He rode great in the car and was happy looking out of the window. He would benefit from lots of road trips and adventures, hiking, trips to the lake, the beach and anywhere that he can burn off some of his energy and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. He will need a family that understands the importance of training and we encourage all families to work on basic and advanced training as a family so that boundaries and expectations can be set and both Honor and his humans can learn each others body language and personalities and form a stronger bond and understanding of each other. Honor is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org Honor is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine . We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
