    Age: Young
    Location: Spring, TX
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Bear had a rough start to his young life, never receiving the affection he so greatly wanted from human companions. He was never allowed inside of the house, and after being deprived of food and comfort as punishment for his curious wandering, he was abandoned in a field. Kind neighbors took care of him until he could be rescued and given the focus to foster him and help him find his forever home. Bear was gently encouraged to discover the inside of a house for the first time, and each indoor adventure was rewarded and praised. It didn't take long at all for Bear to regain his sense of safety and trust in humans again. Today, Bear is a happy house Pyr and couch potato who is looking for his forever family. He loves all people, but is especially kind and attentive to small children - always checking in on them to make sure they are okay. Bear is a big Pyr with an even bigger heart - do you have room in your home and your heart for all of the love Bear will provide? All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today! 2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die. 3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life. As always, all donations are gratefully accepted. If you are interested in adopting this dog or need further information, please contact GPRS at info@gprescuesociety.org or fill out our SHORT application form. Every dog adopted thru the GPRS program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative.

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Vacaville, CA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. .Penelope is a mild mannered older dog who is looking for someone to love. She misses her family who moved without her and broke her heart. She is a gentle soul who gets along here with other dogs, appears indifferent to cats, has been good with the grand children and all strangers (volunteers here) that she has met. She came in the worst of shape- thin, had a cold, matted and neglected. She is recovering nicely and we would love to find her a home for Xmas. A good companion dog for another dog, a awesome companion dog for a retired person or a good dog for anyone who does not mind hair. (Yes she will shed) She is a grateful, loving and very deserving dog. Will be beautiful once her new coat grows in. (She is fully coated now but it still needs to get healthier) Penelope appears housebroken. Adoption is $400 and includes her spay, rabies, worming, shots, bordetella, heartworm test, and microchip. All dogs go home on a two week trial. Please fill out an application on our website and then email thedogspotrescue@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet. She would love to meet you this weekend or next at our "Home for Xmas" Adoption event in Elk Grove. Ca/ Please let us know if you have any further questions and new pictures coming soon. Your Adoption Fee covers the following expenses: Spay/Neuter, DHLPP, Bordatella, Rabies (if age appropriate), De-worming and Frontline/Advantage Please Note: Shelter/rescue dogs have been exposed to many pathogens such as kennel cough, parasites, diseases and conditions some of which may not have been discovered prior to adoption. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. We consider, you, the adopters, the last leg of the rescue process.

    Peluchi (S)

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Spring, TX
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Precocious, nosey, inquisitive and loving life, Peluchi will make you smile. He loves to play and sticks his nose into everything, a true adventurer! Full of life energy and creativity, sweet Peluchi's curiosity is boundless at 18 months old. He is the first to come up to you and say hi. Peluchi loves dogs, feline-friendly, kid-friendly and is house trained; he even knows how to use the pet door. He is fair on leash (the force is strong with this one) - getting excited at birds, squirrels and other dogs along the way. Peluchi must have a playmate because he could become destructive when bored or left alone (he removed some books which he then read to oblivion). Food left out on the counter? It must be for Peluchi. Crumbs on the floor? Those must be for Peluchi too. Dog treats on top of the fridge? Peluchi is capable of reaching the top of the refrigerator. He likes to patrol the yard and will bark at whatever doesn’t seem normal. One of his favorite places to lay is on the porch outside the backdoor where he can survey the area. His favorite position while doing so is on his side with legs extended as far as they will go. Due to his previous hygiene neglect, Peluchi isn't real keen on being brushed or combed (grooming), but it's improving with positive reinforcement. Peluchi is now loving life with his foster family and looking for his forever home. You could be that special someone who teaches him all about the strong bond between a dog and his human. He hasn't been loved much but boy is he ready. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Say hello to Jerry! At the young age of 10 months, Jerry was found guarding a junk yard and saved by rescue. Now he gets to play and be a puppy again. He is not your typical puppy though. Not mischievous, energetic, or feisty. He is very well behaved, especially for his young age. He can be trusted home alone for several hours without accidents, or chewing/tearing anything up. He is potty trained, walks well on a leash, does great loading up in the SUV and enjoys car rides. Jerry wants to please you so he learns very quickly, with some yummy treats he learned to sit and shake in one day! He is very calm most of the time, and loves taking long naps and cuddling with kids. He patrols the house, walking the halls, checking the all the rooms and doors. He's not an excessive barker, but will bark when someone is at the door, or if he hears an unusual noise. He needs a somewhat playful doggy companion to romp around the yard with once or twice a day. He would climb a chain link fence in a heartbeat so he needs a secure yard with a high wood fence, as he is quite the agile boy and able to climb. He does really well with other non-aggressive dogs (he will reciprocate aggressive behavior). You have to watch him around the front door, because he is a runner. Jerry is learning not to beg for food, and he's made a lot of progress. He went to a pumpkin patch and he was great in a large crowd and with lots of toddlers. Jerry is a dream dog, and is going to grow up to be an incredible Pyr. Jerry is just a lovable guy who wants nothing more than to be loved and have fun all day! He will be a great pet for an active family. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $375 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport.
