    Angus & Ava ...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: Rockaway, NJ
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Saint Bernard (medium coat). If you think "big is beautiful", you're going to love Angus and Ava! They are 3-year-old bonded siblings who appear to be Great Pyrenees/St. Bernard mixes. Angus is a big boy who weighs 125 lbs and Ava is the "petite" one at only 95 lbs. Their owner turned them into a shelter because they wouldn't stay in their yard with an electric fence. We are hoping to find a much better permanent placement for this pair. Angus and Ava are gentle giants who have been neutered/spayed, fully vetted, and microchipped. Ava does have epilepsy, but it is being controlled through medication. Both Angus and Ava get along well with other dogs. These two love each other very much so we're looking for a home where they can stay together for the rest of their lives. If you're interested in meeting this duo, please fill out an application and be sure to mention their names - ANGUS & AVA KY!

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Rockaway, NJ
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). From Happy's foster mom: Happy is 5 years old and he's the sweetest, most perfect Great Pyrenees I have ever been around. He is well behaved and walks calmly on leash, never pulling. He loves cats, he especially loves to play with other dogs and he has never bothered my chickens. He aims to please and responds well to everyone. Happy is a typical Pyr and if released outside a fenced area he would just start walking. Apparently Happy has been wandering for quite some time looking for someone to love him - I took him into my home & he's been with me several months. Happy will come in when asked to, never messing in the house in any way. He is also very happy outside. He does not jump up on people or fences or gates and has not attempted to escape confinement by climbing or digging though he does understand that a house door leads to the outside and will not hesitate to go out if left open. Happy's only "bad habit", if you can call it that, is that he puts his paw on your lap so you will pet him. People familiar with the Great Pyrenees breed know that this is actually called "Pyr Paw" and is a trait of the breed. :) I love this gentle giant and hope with all my heart that he will go into a family with another young playful dog so he will have a doggie companion. Happy has been neutered & fully vetted - he arrives at EHR on 2/23/2017. If you'd like to meet this gentle boy, please fill out an application & be sure to ask for him by name - HAPPY PYR SCAS!

Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Mirror, Mirror, on the wall. Who is the fairest one... Wait! That's not me and that's not my fairytale. I am MIRA, not mirror, and while I AM the fairest in the land, my fairytale is more simple than THAT old thing. I am just a beautiful girl who was not cut out for city life. You see, I tend to be a little... noisy when I think something's wrong or it doesn't smell right. In short, I bark to keep the bad guys away...whatever I think they might be. You may not see them, but I smell them. Anyway, that's my only thing. I am a good girl. I am a lover. I love attention lavished upon me. I get along with my foster brothers and sisters, but I do best when introductions are slow. I can be an only dog. If that's what you are looking for, I can do that. As long as my human family is active, I'll be good. I'll love you. What more do you need? All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $300 There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today! 2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die. 3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life. As always, all donations are gratefully accepted. If you are interested in adopting this dog or need further information, please contact GPRS at info@gprescuesociety.org or fill out our SHORT application form. Every dog adopted thru the GPRS program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative.

Overweight Pyr Aussie mix matted mesquite APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org Adoption Fee $350 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! CHLOE is a stunning Aussie-Great Pyrenees mix with a beautiful thick curly coat. She has tan markings on her ears and her back and even though it's hard to tell her legs are the length of an Aussie. Chloe came in before Christmas in terrible condition; her fur was knotted and matted to the skin and even though she is still on a weight-reduction journey she was then so terribly obese she could hardly move. After her DASH Extreme Dog Makeover Chloe is a whole new girl! She has lost 15 pounds from a healthier diet and leash walk exercise. She still has another 15-20 pounds to lose over time BUT she loves walking, running and even playing! She loves life now! Chloe is a CUDDLER. She wants to be as close to her humans as possible and if allowed she will make her way into the thinnest crevice between a human and a pillow so that she can be SURE you know she is there for you... just in case you need protection or warmth. Chloe is trustworthy in the house all day. She can live with 8-5ers and not need a crate or a walk during the day; Chloe will be thrilled to see you when you get home and then ready for a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. Chloe is also fine in an apartment - though she is a large gal she will want to be within a few square feet of her humans so whether you live in a mansion or an urban loft Chloe will acclimate as long as she gets good leash walks, a healthy diet and Love, Love, Love. Chloe is tolerant of other dogs and could live with a submissive male but NO CATS and she would really rather be the Diva Dog who gets ALL of the attention. If you're looking for a 75-lb Best Friend, SnuggleBug, co-pilot, weight-loss partner, or just someone happy to see you every day the rest of her life please apply for CHLOE on www.dashdog.org! To apply for this big, beautiful girl go to www.dashdog.org! Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Finn! Finn is a 1 year old purebred Great Pyrenees with a solid white coat. He weighs approx. 73 lbs and is on the small side for a Great Pyrenees – he will probably top out between 80-85 lbs. His coat is medium length right now but is still growing in and he is becoming fluffier by the day! Finn is housebroken, uses a dog door, leash trained and will sit to be put into a harness. He also sits quite nicely for his dog bowl! He loves to play hard with other dogs and has been in a home with both small and large dogs of both sexes and all ages. He is also very affectionate and will do the Pyr paw and give kisses. He has medium energy level. He has not been cat tested & has exhibited prey drive on his pack walks (lunges at the squirrels & rabbits!). He likes chew toys and has not tried to chew anything inappropriate. He exhibits NO signs of separation anxiety or noise phobia. He has been left loose in the house with the other dogs without being destructive. Finn has a happy-go-lucky personality, he’s highly adaptable, and he learns quickly All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $275* Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Bear has shown to be non-aggressive toward people & has interacted well with his foster siblings. He doesn’t appear to be fond of cats. Being a large Pyrenees he does bark loud at times, but only when he hears strangers passing by or nearby dogs barking. Bear loves to lay his head on your lap, give kisses, and snuggle next to you on the bed when allowed. Bear requires daily exercise. He has a very high energy level when allowed to roam freely outside in a contained area. He can run extremely fast for a dog of his size. Other than some pulling, & frequent stopping to snoop or mark his spot, he behaves well when taking him for a walk on the leash. He seems to be more laid back while inside, but will have bursts of high energy when playing with his foster siblings. He is eager to please, and loves affection in the form of petting, hugging & talking to him in a friendly tone. He has the unusual characteristic of a non-threatening snarl and moaning sound when he is excited and happy. It is his happy face! We believe Bear would fare better if he were with another Pyrenees All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Jackson is a beautiful and super sweet 1-2 year old pocket pyr at only 55 lbs. Although we aren’t really sure of his history, we do know that this poor guy needs to find a home with a lot of love and confidence! He is fully housebroken, walks well on a leash and is working on learning basic commands! He knows sit, stay and ‘hoover’ for when we drop extra dog food on the floor! He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and has no interest whatsoever in cats but he has not been kid tested just yet. He loves to run and play outside with his foster sister but his ultimate love is to be exactly where you are…maybe to a fault! He loves tummy rubs, ear scratches and strangely enough, hugs from his human. He would prefer to nap with his head on your lap on the couch or even sleep in your bed if you’ll let him! He is very food and attention motivated so there’s no doubt that his new family could teach him some new tricks too if they wanted! Jackson, is super grateful for not being in a shelter any more and he would love to show you all of his gratitude if you just give him the chance! All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Breed: Great Pyrenees

    Location: Spring, TX
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Wilson's age and breed make him the Pyrfect companion for those who love spending their free time relaxing. He is a large 8-10 year old senior with a drive to cuddle and wants to be first in line for petting. He is excellent at watching over his "flock," which includes dogs, cats and a 4 year old; he makes it his business if anything in the house is disrupted. Example, when the little girl cries, he goes to investigate and to put his body close to her, if the dogs are getting into too rough of play, he uses his calm and large presence to break things up. Occasionally, he'll instigate energetic play with the other dogs. His calm and steady nature is most suited for indoors. He loves lounging outside briefly but prefers a warm, soft place on the couch. He rarely barks, but is keenly aware of goings-on outside the house. Wilson loves car rides and is good on a leash, only tugging when he is unsure of which direction he's being led. Wilson is a very loving dog and in need of an affectionate family to fulfill his need for attention and another dog for companionship. A family with any age children will be preferred. Wilson has been successfully treated for heart worms and a skin rash which may reappear during warm seasons. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing.
