Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE TO LEARN ABOUT OUR ADOPTION POLICY, FEES AND MORE ON McCRAW - www.k95rescue.org Please note that McCraw is a Special Needs dog McCraw is a sensitive fella that came from a terrible background full of neglect. Once on a chain, and then left in a fenced area that was overgrown with shrubbery, weeds and grass far taller than he, he didn't think anyone could be nice to him. Over time he has learned not to be as afraid of people, form friendships with other animals, play, and he's earned a beautiful coat vs. the matted shell of a coat he had prior to coming into rescue. He even does well at events. McCraw is a special needs boy, however. Because of his fears, he will need someone experienced to work with him during a transition into a new home. He also has some issues with food protection and which will also need someone experienced. For this reason, while he's done well with kids at events, we prefer not to place him in a home with children. If there are other dogs, any large dogs need to be female. He requires a FENCED yard due to the Great Pyrenees tendency to roam. McCraw would love someone who will dote on him, take him places, and make him the king of the castle. Let us know if that's you!

    Travis (S)

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Travis! He was born around 5/5/2017. He’ll likely weigh 80-90 pounds when he’s full-grown in another year and a half. He is a total love and as sweet as can be. He loves kids, and is willing to be admired by anyone who wishes to lavish their attention upon him. This is a boy who comes up to people and gives them the “Pyr paw” to say, “I like you. Pet me.” His medium-length coat is silky, soft. And his tail is the envy of many other dogs – it is especially long and luxurious. Travis is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained. He is not yet thrilled with the concept of a leash, but he’s getting used to it as he learns that he gets to go places if he tolerates it. This silly boy is full of puppy antics. He will entertain you and keep you laughing. He loves to stretch out as far as his body will go in cool grass or cool dirt, then dozes that way, soaking up the cool outdoors. He walks around carrying a toy, the stuffed kind are his favorite. Keep your kitchen towels out of reach, or he will also carry those outside for you, too! Give him a sofa, and he will be right at home. He really likes to curl up in a wing-backed chair or a slipper chair, or to stretched full-out on cool flooring. He loves to play in mud puddles, creeks, and other shallow water sources. But we don’t think he’s one for a swimming pool. He gets along great with the other big dogs in his foster home, playing a lot with the big Rottweilers there. In his forever home, he needs an adult doggy companion to continue showing him how to be a properly behaved pup. He pays no attention to the stray cats that pass through the yard, and the local rabbits are also safe around him. PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) Homes with youthful, playful dogs provide the pup with a mentor which facilitates a smooth integration into your household. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must be home at least part of the day. If you are away from home between 8-10 hours a day, please do not apply for a puppy as this circumstance is unfavorable for you and the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees experience or knowledge. 5) You must have a plan in place to properly socialize your puppy. 6) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to submit an application. We are continuously working through applications, including those that were received in advance of yours. It is very likely that by the time your application has been approved, the puppy may no longer be available. 7) Please do not inquire about a puppy's availability; the puppy is still available if the listing is displayed. Emailing for status updates will only result in a delay of your application review, and put you to the back of the line. All of the individuals responsible for reviewing applications are volunteering what little bit of time s/he has in addition to their own dogs, families, careers, and responsibilities. Though we do our best to evaluate ALL applications swiftly, submissions for adult dogs do take priority - there are an abundant amount of people that only want to adopt a puppy. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $375 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today! 2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die. 3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life. As always, all donations are gratefully accepted. If you are interested in adopting this dog or need further information, please contact GPRS at info@gprescuesociety.org or fill out our SHORT application form. Mitchell

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Mitchell! He is an absolutely gorgeous Great Pyrenees born around April 16, 2014. And he is a big boy at 95 pounds! He exhibits nothing less than typical Pyr confidence, trust, and adaptability. This marvelous boy loves every person he meets. He relishes your attention, and will even bury his nose in your tummy! As a laid-back dude, he prefers the company of adults over children; the young ones bring too much excitement for his taste. He can get along with teenagers if they are quiet and calm. He is equally selective about his canine companions. He insists that they be female, and smaller than he is. He absolutely does not tolerate dark-coated male dogs or any dog larger than he is. He enjoys an early morning romp with his smaller doggy girlfriends, then he likes to chillax for the rest of his day. He prefers that his pack remain small – just one or two more dogs in the house is plenty for him. Mitchell is house trained and leash trained, but don’t plan on taking him on any pleasure rides! He does not like to travel – at all. And don’t try to crate him – he absolutely will not go in a crate, and there’s no need for it in his case. Mitchell is ready for his forever home. He still has a playful side but has left those puppy habits behind, so there’s need to worry about him eating your furniture or your slippers! Mitchell is available for adoption exclusively in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. His wish list is small. He just wants someone to keep him safe and love him unconditionally. Simple as that. PIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!

    Jack (S)

    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Jack! He is truly a gentle giant. He was born around 10/10/2016, and will likely be a huge 100 pounds when he reaches full adulthood in another year! His coat will probably get thicker and more plush as he becomes more healthy. This poor boy ended up at the shelter after being found as a stray. He had multiple facial wounds that looked like he’d been attacked by another dog, and it was clear he had never lived inside a home. He was nervous and unsure when first arriving to his foster home, but after some good meals, walks, love, and attention, Jack began loving indoor life! His facial fur is coming back nicely, soon his scars will disappear, and he’ll be his gorgeous self again. He enjoys being outside with the other dogs, but as soon as everyone comes back in, he wants to be back in the house with the rest of the family. In true Pyr fashion, Jack likes to sleep a lot during the day and is relatively low energy for a dog of approximately one year in age. However there are times when he does play with his foster siblings in the backyard. If he lived in a household with a younger, energetic dog he would probably be very interactive with them and become a more active dog himself. In his foster home, sweet Jack lives with two adult Pyrs and he gets along with very well with them. He needs a companion dog in his forever home. He is fine in the house when his people are gone, but gets anxious without his fellow canine buddies. Jack does great on a leash and thoroughly enjoys his daily walks. He has free run of the house and enjoys plenty of bones which keep him occupied and out of mischief. He loves riding in the car once he can be convinced to get in it! He is very strong, so he will do best with a family that is able to load him into the car until he realizes that it’s something he wants to do. He could be fine in an apartment if he is walked regularly. He doesn’t seem to have an interest in toys, but maybe he’s still learning what they’re for! He can be funny sometimes, rolling happily in the grass. Despite everything Jack has been through, he has adjusted very well to being a family dog and is extremely low maintenance. He is very affectionate and loves nothing more than getting attention from his humans. His gentle demeanor will make him a perfect family dog for the right home that is able to give him the love and attention he deserves. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing.
