    Linus

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (medium coat). Meet Linus! This Great Pyrenees boy was born around May 10, 2014. He is a sweet, active young boy, who loves people and loves to play. To impress the lady dogs, he even has a gnarly scar on his leg from an early adventure at his foster home (his last, he promised!). Linus does well with all sizes of dogs, cats, and even chickens! He would do well, however, in a home with larger children, because he likes to jump up on his foster mom, and she's having a hard time breaking him of it. He might be a tad too rowdy for the little kids. Linus does like getting loved on and will let you know if you finish before he's ready for you to finish! He'd really love to have a doggy companion, but if you promise to be an active parent, he says that you'll make a suitable replacement. Linus is neutered, microchipped, has all his shots, and is heartworm negative. If you think you can keep up with this sweet, kiss-giving boy, fill out at application and we'll set up a date! SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Priscilla! This precious Great Pyrenees girl was born around May 20, 2014. Pretty Priscilla was found as scrawny stray and taken into rescue. Since then, she has become healthy, confident, and very loving and affectionate with her people. She knows she was rescued, and shows her gratitude daily to her foster family. Priscilla is a very sweet girl. She relishes attention. She is house trained and crate trained. She is not always comfortable sharing her space with other dogs, so she might do best as your one and only love bug. Priscilla had severe hip dysplasia, so she had surgery on them both. Because her hips are in a fragile state, it would be best if her new home has no small children and no large dogs that might want to play rough. We don’t want her being jumped on, wrestling, and tearing the scar tissue in her hips. It is her turn for a fairy tale ending. Will you be the one? Gump

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Gump! He is another impossibly gorgeous Great Pyrenees! His favorite things are lounging with his humans and running joyfully in the rain! His birth date is estimated to be January 1, 2015. Gump is a very sweet and affectionate dog that just needs love and security. He would love to snuggle up with you while you watch a movie; he is just that chill. He is laid back and friendly. He loves people! He also loves to be outside and going on walks. He is great on a leash; he has a slow pace and doesn't pull. While usually preferring to move slowly, every once in a while he gets a burst of energy zooms with glee around the back yard! Since being rescued, Gump is adjusting to the pampered life beautifully! He was understandably insecure from all of his recent changes (finding himself in a shelter, being taken to a new home), and he is quickly coming out of his shell. His foster mom is giving him good nutrition, and he’s transforming from under-weight to his ideal weight. For now, he is nervous on car rides. This handsome boy does great when left to roam the house. He doesn't bother anything, except for maybe the blinds. Make sure to crack them, so he can take a peek at the neighbors. He doesn’t bark much; sometimes he’ll warn you if he sees something suspicious out the window. He could be okay in an apartment, but the neighbors might complain over his occasional barking. Gump is fine with cats. He just ignores them and agrees to co-exist. He would prefer to be the only dog, but he could live with another one as long as the dog respects his space. He’s not one to engage in friendly doggy wrestling! If you're in search of a furry friend that is low maintenance and a couch potato companion, then Gump is your man. Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Hi my name is Kye and I am a big handsome puppy looking for my forever family. I am just about 5 months old, I'm neutered and current on all my shots. I still have my fuzzy puppy hair which has earned me the nickname "helmet head". I am very affectionate and really love to play. If you already have a doggie that would be wonderful, because one of my favorite things is to initiate play with other dogs. I am still learning about cats and currently like to chase them; but I'm working on my kitty manners. I love having kids around and I am great at cuddling! I am crate trained and fully potty trained and I am working on my leash skills. I am still puppyish and love to get into mischief...my favorite "no no" is shoes; oh I just love shoes soooo much! I am a silly, fun loving guy and would love to have a family of my own who have a doggie friend for me to play with and kids would be just an added bonus. If you are looking for a super sweet, fun loving, smart, silly, handsome and overall awesome Pyr puppy then please look no further and pick me....Kye! Crystal - SP...

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Saint Bernard (long coat). Meet Crystal! Crystal is a stunning Great Pyrenees. Crystal is a gentle giant but has a loud bark and is fearful of strangers/new people. Crystal will need a family who is willing to give her at least a month or more to adjust to her surroundings, work on training either at home or in classes, and give her time to feel safe. Once she knows and trusts you she will snuggle on the couch, paw you for attention and even give you kisses. All of her loving personality will come out. She was most likely used on a farm as a guard to sheep so she still needs more practice living in a house full time. She does BEST with another DOG to help show her people are ok and to have a playmate. She does have a loud Bark and would probably not be suited for apartment living even though her energy level is low. She lives in a house that is very busy and with kids and hasn't shown a mean bone in her body but a lot of action, strangers coming and going makes her more fearful. She feels safe in her crate and will go there anytime you ask or if she feels insecure. She trusts her foster mom and has built a great relationship with her so we know her person is out there. She is more fearful of new men so the adjustment time for men could be much longer. She was pulled from a shelter where she spent some of her time. We are not sure if that's what caused her to be shy or if its breed related due to her possibly have been a working dog with limited people contact prior to her stay in the shelter. She may enjoy a more farm like atmosphere. Once she trusts you, you can do anything ... give her a bath, brush her, take her for a car ride, walk her on leash anywhere, or just sit around and snuggle. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. Please fill out an adoption application and start the process for your new family member! AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!

    Barron

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet lovely Barron! This sweet-natured Great Pyrenees gentleman is the most laid back love bug you'll ever hope to meet! He is a young dog with an old soul. We estimate he was born around August 13, 2015. Fozzy Barron, as his foster mom calls him, loves being outside. When not inside with his humans, he is content with keeping watch at the back door or gate, warning you of all intruders, squirrels, leaves, raindrops, and more. He is housebroken and loves, loves kids!! He hasn't met any cats. He is great with male and female dogs of sizes. Any fellow canine companions need to be of the sweet and kind variety. Barron was owner-surrendered for seemingly sudden aggression. After a stay in boarding and some training, it was discovered that he has eye problems. The apparent aggression was because he couldn't see people "sneaking" up on him! After seeing a doggy eye doctor, it was determined that Barron has a small cataract in his right eye and chronic dry eye in his left, with goo build up. A few minutes of eye meds a few times a day is all he needs, and he needs this treatment for the rest of his life. His new human must be willing to do this for him. It's really easy and he's a good boy while you do it. Barron’s new family will need to be patient with this gorgeous, gentle boy. They must always be cognizant of his vision loss, and be careful to approach him on the side where he can see. Barron is available for adoption only in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Is he the boy for you? SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!

    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). **We will not be placing Ivory with Kitties or any small animals** but she get's along well with dogs --- **Be sure to watch her videos below: Ivory is a purebred Great Pyrenees, she about 2 ½ years old but she’s like a “mini” Great Pyr because she only weighs 61 lbs. which is half of what a Pyr usually weighs. We found that she does have a medical issue in that she tested positive for (3) Tick-borne diseases. She has Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma. I've personally rescued #511 dogs & Ivory is the 1st to ever have all three! She has no symptoms -- but she did test positive so we are treating her aggressively with 6 full weeks of Doxycycline. Whoever adopts her should have an urinalysis done annually to maintain that she is medically sound. If there is ever an issue she can go back on another 6 week course of antibotics. This is not a life threatening situation but she will need to be watched for the rest of her life. She’s a people lover & she gets along with her foster siblings -- but what makes her special is she LOVES kids --- it’s in her heart. I call dogs like her "Bona-Fide Kid Lovers!" When she was on a transport on her way to DE from KY she stopped at a family’s home to stay overnight & they had a young boy & she just quivered with joy at seeing him. Next, she laid on the floor next to him so she could get as close to him as possible. Did she have her own kids in her other life? We don’t know, but we do know now that she’s starting over -- she deserves to be adopted into a home where the family is experienced with large breed dogs with lots of hair & her new kids need to have been raised with large dogs & love them. There is a photo below that shows what she looked when she was surrendered to a kill shelter in KY – you can see she’s heartbroken. She was surrendered because “allegedly” she killed a chicken. For that reason, we will not place Ivory in a home with cats or any other small animals – just to be safe. For more info read our adoption requirements & if you can meet or exceed them, you can apply here at my website. All LnF pups/dogs have been temperament tested & live in foster homes ~ All pups and dogs have been housebroken (puppies are paper trained) & crated trained ~ All pups/dogs have been Microchipped ~ Tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia & Lyme ~ Each dog is on Heartworm Medication year-round while in our care ~ Up to date with Rabies ~ Distemper, Parvo & Leptospirosis vaccines ~ Wormed. Our adoption fee includes (30) days of FREE pet insurance with an option to purchase, but it's your choice. We strive to provide the BEST medical care available so that YOU are assured all our pups/dogs are healthy, up-to-date on all necessary shots, spayed or neutered by our rescue. Adoption Requirements: *A minimum physical 4-foot high fence or is higher is always mandatory and must be installed. Some dogs may need a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence & if so it's noted on their profile. We will not consider any applications that does not have an installed fence. We do NOT accept any type of electric fence, no exceptions.
