    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Paloma! Being with people is her favorite thing! She was born around 6/1/2014, and is full-sized at 85 pounds. This girl is very affectionate, sweet, easy going, and laid back. She likes to be right by you and help you do things, like helping you put your shoes and socks on by laying her head on your lap. She is friendly towards every one she meets. She can be the only dog in the house, or she can live in harmony with other dogs – big, small, male, female - that have her chill attitude and low energy. She doesn’t like to play with them or with toys much. She doesn’t like being around dogs that get pushy with her, or crazy puppies that run into her or bound over her. She is house trained, leash trained, and rides well in a car. She has no need for a crate. She is mostly quiet, and will share her deep, gruff bark only when needed. She is nice to cats. She could be fine in an apartment. She should not be placed with young children or the very elderly, because she is a hard sleeper and startles easily. Also she sometimes gets over enthusiastic and jumps on people. Foster mom is working to stop this habit, but we don’t anyone getting accidentally pushed to the ground. All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing. Adoption Fee: $300 * Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport. There are many things YOU can do to help us: 1. Adopt! If this Gentle Giant looks like the one for you, fill out an adoption application today! 2. Foster! This is a temporary commitment that gives all dogs in need the assured time to find the loving home they deserve. Your benevolent decision to foster unquestionably determines whether a loving dog gets to live or die. 3. Donate! Safeguarding these Gentle Giants result in expenses that are in upwards $8/day. If veterinary care is needed, the costs exponentiate to $1,000+ for a single dog. Every penny you donate makes an impact when it comes to vet bills! If you were to make a one-time donation of just $25, you would be adding 3 more valuable days to the life of every rescued dog and provide the chance to find the home they have been waiting for their entire life. As always, all donations are gratefully accepted. If you are interested in adopting this dog or need further information, please contact GPRS at info@gprescuesociety.org or fill out our SHORT application form. Every dog adopted thru the GPRS program is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered and on heartworm preventative.

    Samson

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Great Pyrenees
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Samson. Samson is a four year old, purebred, neutered (and up to date on shots) Great Pyrenees. True to the breed, this boy is vocal and likes to protect his family. For this very reason (and some bark complaints), his family is having to rehome him due to the close quarters in which they currently live. Samson exhibits many of the familiar traits Pyrenees are known for - barking, protectiveness, and loyalty. He likes to look out for his owners and will bark / growl when people approach his home. Upon introduction from his owners, he does just fine. Samson is great with kiddos and would be a loyal family pet. He hasn't shown any attempts to get out of a fenced yard, but like all Pyrs, will require a good fence to keep him home and safe. He'd most enjoy a family that includes him in their lives and doesn't leave him home alone for long periods of time, as it makes him nervous. He is good with other dogs; we're unsure about cats. He'll be a great buddy and protector for a family that loves and understands the Pyr personality. Is that you? Samson is currently residing in Utah; GPRM will assist with his transport to his new home.

This gorgeous lovebug was born around 4/4/2006, and he’s on the smaller side for the breed at 80 pounds. All he really wants is to soak up all the attention you want to give him. Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Please fill out our short application - the link is below - we are FAST! Our applications are usually processed in less than 7 days but we have done one in less than 8 hours!! Meet Buddy Love! This beautiful, funny boy was born around 11/11/2007. He has the most adorable flecks of brown freckles on his ears. His ideal weight is around 100 pounds, and his foster mom is helping him meet that goal despite his attempts to get around it. Because he loves, loves to eat, he’s a bit plump right now! He is totally goofy! One thing he does is twirl in circles when you go to pet him. He smiles all the time. He loves lying on a soft bed or bathing in the sun. He is a living speed bump, except when he gets a burst of energy to chase a bunny rabbit! He loves being outside, surveying his domain. He tolerates other big dogs, but he’s not interested in playing with them. He is not super-thrilled with small dogs, because he doesn’t like his belly being sniffed or being walked under. He wouldn’t mind being the only dog in his new home. Buddy is house trained, leash trained, great in a crate, uses a pet door, rides well in a car, and loves going for walks. He is tolerant of cats.
