ingese girl who came to us after the Virginia rescue she was in closed its doors. While we don’t know much about her past, what we do know is this: she’s spayed, up to date on her shots, and very much in need of a soft place to land. Layla is both blind and deaf, and right now, she’s understandably shut down. She spends most of her time lying quietly in her bed, not engaging much with the other dogs. She just seems... sad. And after all she’s endured, who could blame her? But we believe there’s still hope for Layla — and that someone out there can help her find her way back to love. She would thrive in a calm, patient home, with someone willing to help her decompress, feel safe, and gently learn that she’s not alone anymore. Her heart and lungs are strong, but she is heartworm positive. She recently had spay surgery and her ovaries were covered in cysts, which have been removed. She also had a hernia repaired. Once she has recovered, we will begin her heartworm treatment. We’re looking for a local foster or adopter in the Raleigh/Durham area only – we do not transport dogs.
