Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). This is Luna. She's a two year old Malamute. 120 lbs. Spayed and UTD on vaccines. She's good with people, kids and cats. She came into a multiple dog household as a 6 week puppy. She has become dominant in play, and playtime has become a big worry for the family. They have had trainers, but the dynamics seem to be set with these other dogs. She needs to be an only dog, or with a submissive buddy. She's getting depressed being separated and really needs a better home situation. Please call Delmy (407) 810-6788

    Jack

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Alaskan Malamute
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (long coat). Meet Jack! Jack was born October 27th, 2012, so he will be 5 at the end of this month. Jack came to us for the same reason that many Huskies and Malamutes end up in shelters. The breed has a high prey drive and unfortunately Jack was allowed to interact with a guinea pig. Jack was of course not aware that the guinea pig was a part of the family and instinct took over. Jack has lived with other dogs and cats and has no issue with them. Homes with cats will be considered on a case by case basis to air on the side of caution. Jack will NEED to go to a home with no small animals of any kind and to stay on the safe side he also needs to go to a home with NO farm animals. Jack is about 102 lbs currently, but he needs to gain a little under 15 lbs to be at a healthy weight. Jack would prefer to not have small children bothering him so homes with children 10 and older are best for him. Jack is not a dog that can live in an apartment and will need plenty of extensive daily exercise. If you are looking for a couch potato or a dog who only wants to go for a leisurely stroll this is not the dog for you. Jack will be ready to meet potential adopters as of October 6th, 2017. We expect the interest in him to be pretty high, so if you are interested we ask that you fill an application out before coming to meet him. If you are only interested in playing/hanging out with him or any of our other dogs we ask that you please fill an application out to volunteer. Jack is not a dog that will do well living in an apartment because of his size. Malamutes are gorgeous dogs, but they are not a breed for everyone. Owners experienced with the breed or similar breeds will take precedence. If you are interested and have never owned the breed or similar breeds please do your breed research. This link does not beat around the bush and is very honest about the breed as a whole, of course there are parts that do and do not pertain to Jack, but understanding the breed as a whole is very important when adopting a dog: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/alaskanmalamutes.html If interested you can fill an application out by stopping in during our open hours or at this link: http://www.frontieranimalsociety.com/index.php/adopt/online-adoption-application-form Blanchard Oil is the Keeper of the Kennel for this majestic man! Please give us a call at 802-754-2228 or send an email to animals@fasv.comcastbiz.net if you are looking for further information about any of the animals listed or would like an adoption application. Thanks for considering adoption, together we're making second chances possible!!

    Kaiya

    rescue
    Breed: Alaskan Malamute
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (long coat). Miss Kaiya is back at the shelter and looking for her forever home. Kaiya was originally surrendered to the shelter when she was 1 years old. Her previous owners stated that she was starting to show signs of toy/food aggression in the home. Kaiya did live with small children and another dog, but was being possessive of her things. This is not a desirable behavior for any dog. She will need proper training and supervision in her new home to correct this behavior. Her most recent family was hoping to correct some of these behaviors and were making progress, but she still was not adjusting well to the new environment and was returned. Kaiya is an ABSOLUTELY gorgeous girl and will be sure to win you over with her good looks AND personality. She really is a very sweet girl who needs an understanding and knowledgeable family who is willing to take the time to work with her. Kobe

    Breed: Alaskan Malamute
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). Meet Kobe! Kobe is a 5ish year old Malamute. He's a very handsome guy and a complete love with people. He's extremely eager to please and will do just about anything for a treat, making him extremely trainable. He's also done very well with the other dogs we've introduced him to. He loves to wrestle and can be a bit rough when he's excited but takes corrections well. He can also be a little on the dominant side so he'd probably do best with a female furry companion. Overall he's a great guy who would be a wonderful addition to most families. Don't miss out on handsome Kobe!

    Charlie

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Alaskan Malamute
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Alaskan Malamute (medium coat). All of our foster dogs are kept in individual homes. Go to our website Bayareasiberian.org to get the foster home contact if you do not see it in the bio. Charlie is a little shy at first meeting, but he warms up to you with just a little bit of patience and maybe a few treats do the trick. He h is a typical Alaskan Malamute. he needs to be useful and have a purpose that he shares with his master. He is full of energy, playful, fun and ready to go. He likes care rides, walks and play. He starts off on his walk pulling just a little, but then settles down. Charlie really does not want to be alone, he is a people dog, but because of his Sheppard background he wants to protect his owner and their property. He is respectful of your belongings. He sits and waits for his food bowl to be place on the ground before attacking it with gusto. He is still working on his basic commands like DOWN, STAY/WAIT so some basic obedience schooling would be a good and fun thing to do as he wants to please. Charlie also loves to be brushed and handled ...he just needs someone who can set the boundaries and hold him to it.. Children should be older teenagers. No children and no other dogs in the family. No small animals such as chickens, rabbits or cats please though, pretty please. Go to BAYAREASIBERIAN.org for contact information on the foster dog.
