Posted Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Good boy! Anatolian Shepherd mix Joseph has been neutered, updated with vaccines, HW tested, and microchipped. He is a big, goofy boy looking for a home. Because of his size he could easily knock down a small child, so we are hoping for a family with children over the age of ten, another dog to play with, and an adopter willing to train him. Because Joseph came to us as a stray, we don’t know what his capabilities would be as far as being a guardian around livestock, and in cases like this, we would recommend he be considered first as a pet, and then possibly as a working dog. One of our volunteers was recently cleaning and tidying up the play areas outback, and knew how much Joseph loves sniffing and smelling the dirt, so gave Joseph first opportunity to dig a hole, and throw himself in it! We like to give our dogs what they need and dogs stuck in a shelter 24 hours a day need digging enrichment, as well as sniffing enrichment. Joseph is over 80 pounds now, and is filling out nicely after arriving as a very skinny stray. check the comments for a video of him enjoying the fresh earth.
