    Barney

    rescue
    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Barney- Barney is a sweet blood hound boy. He is amazing and he is huge but getting a little weight help as he came to us about 50 lbs over where he needed to be. He is a great dog and a stunning red fawn color with super floppy ears and face. He is a great dog who needs a home that will spend time with him and let him be part of the family. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is shy at first as he was mostly and outside dog who was not given any rules or training. It seems him and his brother were just left in a back yard for 90% of the time. No one did anything with them so they didnt know how to be part of the family. He is a blood hound and they can be a bit stubborn, to say it nicely. So he needs a family that can love him through his stubborn-ness. Barney came to us from his past owner. He had purchased him and his brother from a breeder. Sadly as they grew the dogs were no longer allowed in their house and they were banished to outside. These two became bonded to each other and were never trained. When the family decided that it was time to get them into a different home Barneys brother went to a home, and he did not. He was depressed with out him and confused. A big dog with no training is hard to find a home for. He is going to need a home that can keep working with him like we have. He has learned to be a bully in his old home as his owners method for training was if he misbehaved to just leave him alone. So barney was never told to do anything! Barney is a great dog. He is happy go lucky and loves to have a good time. He is a charmer and we adore the big lug. But he is timid at first with new people and situations as he never knew anything but his own back yard and brother. He would love a family to show him the rest of the world is not a bad situation and that he can be a happy go lucky guy. He loves to cuddle and be a great dog. He just needs a chance to see the world for what it is. He has had such a bad run so far he deserves so much better. He does best in a home with no small kids and can be protective over food with other dogs. He does great with them as long as they are not fed together. He will need a home experienced with a pushy larger dog. As he is used to getting his way and can be a bully if you do not have firm rules. He is a great dog and everything a bloodhound is ment to be, however he will need a good owner to show that. Barney is up to date, dewormed, flea treated and has been altered. We have more dogs to fix then we have had appointments’ for, but he was able to get in and taken care of. He doesn’t seem to have any health issues that we have seen and is a happy healthy guy. As with all blood hounds he needs someone who can keep on top of his ears being cleaned and drool wiped up. He is a charmer. He is house broken, crate trained and does ok on leash. He does need walked in a training collar of or will pull. He is a great dog. He will guard food so a home with out small kids or he has to be fed away from them. He is a great boy who needs a good home and would love a family who would help him. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). 6 year old Blood Hound looking to be spoiled the rest of his life! Poor Sampson was found as he wandered into a feed store in Tucson looking for help. The poor boy was thin and may have been wandering for a while. After searching for his owner, Fedwell Farm was asked if we would help him. We were honored. Sampson is 6 to 7 years old He did not have a great live previously. He does not seem to have been in a home before, he loves it now. He is now housebroken, has nice house manners and is really enjoying the civilized life. He had a tumor on his testicle which turned out to be a piece of cactus that was never removed. He is now neutered, healthy, vaccinated, micro chipped and looking for a real forever home that will love and cherish him the rest of his life! He is located in South East Arizona, his foster mom makes frequent trips to Tucson. 602-316-8919 (no texts please)
