    Barney

    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Barney- Barney would love a home of his own. He loves to give someone sad puppy eyes and knows that he would do great in a home that would love him for the stubborn sniffer he is! Please help find this amazing guy a home! He is a great dog and really just keeps getting over looked. We adore the big lug and he would love a home where he can be the amazing dog we know he is. Barney is a sweet blood hound boy. He is amazing and he is huge but getting a little weight help as he came to us about 50 lbs over where he needed to be. He is a great dog and a stunning red fawn color with super floppy ears and face. He is a great dog who needs a home that will spend time with him and let him be part of the family. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is shy at first as he was mostly and outside dog who was not given any rules or training. It seems him and his brother were just left in a back yard for 90% of the time. No one did anything with them so they didnt know how to be part of the family. He is a blood hound and they can be a bit stubborn, to say it nicely. So he needs a family that can love him through his stubborn-ness. Barney has been in rescue for so long and really wants a home of his own. Barney came to us from his past owner. He had purchased him and his brother from a breeder. Sadly as they grew the dogs were no longer allowed in their house and they were banished to outside. These two became bonded to each other and were never trained. When the family decided that it was time to get them into a different home Barneys brother went to a home, and he did not. He was depressed with out him and confused. A big dog with no training is hard to find a home for. He is going to need a home that can keep working with him like we have. He has learned to be a bully in his old home as his owners method for training was if he misbehaved to just leave him alone. So barney was never told to do anything! Barney is a great dog. He is happy go lucky and loves to have a good time. He is a charmer and we adore the big lug. But he is timid at first with new people and situations as he never knew anything but his own back yard and brother. He would love a family to show him the rest of the world is not a bad situation and that he can be a happy go lucky guy. He loves to cuddle and be a great dog. He just needs a chance to see the world for what it is. He has had such a bad run so far he deserves so much better. He does best in a home with no small kids and can be protective over food with other dogs. He does great with them as long as they are not fed together. He will need a home experienced with a pushy larger dog. As he is used to getting his way and can be a bully if you do not have firm rules. He is a great dog and everything a bloodhound is ment to be, however he will need a good owner to show that. He would do amazing in a hound experienced home. Barney is up to date, dewormed, flea treated and has been altered. He is a happy healthy guy with no known health issues other then being a little over weight. We adore his happy jiggly self. He doesn’t seem to have any health issues that we have seen and is a happy healthy guy. As with all blood hounds he needs someone who can keep on top of his ears being cleaned and drool wiped up. He is a charmer. He is house broken, crate trained and does ok on leash. He does need walked in a training collar of or will pull. He is a great dog. He will guard food so a home with out small kids or he has to be fed away from them. He is a great boy who needs a good home and would love a family who would help him. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    Breed: Bloodhound

    Age: Senior
    Location: Spokane Valley, WA
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). Hello, I am an active gal who is eager to please! I am Gidget, 01959, a senior bloodhound with lots of spunky and a sweet personality. Even though I am a senior I still will need an active home and outlets for my energy and curios nature. I am friendly with other dogs but just very interested in them and would rather engage and have attention from you. Seniors are special and my adoption fee is just the cost of a license. Please come in and spend sometime with me, I sure would love a forever home and enjoy my golden years. Oh, how I love to roll in the grass on a warm sunny day!!! When contacting SCRAPS with questions about one of our adoptable dogs, please refer to the dog's Identification Number. Do not refer to the dog's name as not all staff are familiar with names. Dogs are subject to a 3 business day holding period if no owner is known and a 5 business day holding period if the owner is known. After the holding period the dog will be available for adoption. All dogs are tested using a program called "SAFER" which was developed by the ASPCA and is used to determine if a dog shows signs of aggression. SAFER scores of 1 or 2 are considered the "easiest" dog, scores of 3 require some behavior modification.

    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Charlotte, NC
Posted Breed: Bloodhound. Meet Brody! A 145 pound pure bred Bloodhound (who is working on losing some weight). He's 5 years old, house trained, and loves other dogs, kids, and cats. He loves to go on walks and explore nature. Just a great all around dog who loves everyone! He will definitely best in a home with a fenced yard. If you are interested in adopting Brody please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***

    MOONSHINE

    rescue
    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Raleigh, NC
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (medium coat). You may call 919-772-2326 to speak to a counselor for more information prior to your visit. The SPCA has an adoption counseling process for adopters to learn adoption guidelines and adoption options. Helloooo! How do you like my big goofy smile? I bet I can make you smile just as big, but you have to adopt me first! My name is Moonshine and we are going to have some fun adventures! I love to sniff and have tons of energy despite my age, so I hope we can take long strolls on the greenway together. Even an adult guy like me could use some training classes. It will certainly help our bond as human and canine, but it will also help me make new dog friends. I do pretty well with other dogs so if you are searching for a buddy for your current canine, I could be a good match! It will still take me time to adjust to the routine and learn my manners, but it''s worth it for all the love that I will give. At the end of the day, I''m just searching for a friend. Hopefully that will be you! I''m full grown at ~79 lbs. ~My adoption fee is $95.00.~ Many adoptions will take approximately 1 hour or more. Adoption requirements and tips to speed up the adoption process: Please be able to provide a valid photo I.D. with your current address (If your I.D. does not reflect your current address, bring a piece of mail with your name and address on it) Be able to prove that you are allowed to have a pet where you live (proof of home ownership or a copy of your rental lease including the specific pet policy) Bring along all members of your household, including dogs for an introduction to a new dog. However, we do recommend meeting with an adoption counselor before involving children in the pet selection process. To avoid longer wait times, we strongly recommended that dog-to-dog meetings take place after 1:00pm. Participate in adoption counseling process to learn adoption guidelines and adoption options. Adoption Fees: Dogs & Puppies: $115.00 Cats & Kittens: $95.00 Rabbits: $50.00 Adoption fees include: Basic wellness exam, first vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, deworming and flea preventative. All cats and kittens have tested negative for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). All dogs and puppies have received heartworm preventative, and dogs/puppies over the age of six months have been tested for heartworms. All rabbits are spayed or neutered. Understand that the SPCA of Wake County reserves the right to deny an adoption. You may call 919-772-2326 to speak to a counselor for more information prior to your visit.

    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Corrales, NM
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). If you are interested in Bones, Please contact abqpike@gmail.com Telephone 903-286-8031 Bones is in Albuquerque. Bones is a happy vigorous 10 yr old neutered male bloodhound who needs an adoring family. He was abandoned in southern NM, sick, injured and starving. His rescuer treated his illness, put on 15 lbs, updated his vaccinations and heartworm prevention. He has recovered beautifully, now neutered and showered with affection, returning the favor with never once soiling in the house, tolerating a yappy 6 lb housemate. He prefers couches and laps to fancy dogbeds. Because he was starved, food is precious to Bones and should be fed separately from others. He would love a bit of yard and a LOT of companionship. A delightful character.

    Dinga

    rescue
    Breed: Bloodhound
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Posted Breed: Bloodhound (short coat). Another Senior BloodHound Dinga is a super sweet 8 year old Bloodhound. She was turned into the Maricopa Animal Shelter by an ex wife who said she wasn't good with children. Not sure where that came from, but she is sure great with children here! Being great family dogs is part of the hound personality, we think it was just vindictiveness unfortunately. People do nasty things to get even with ex spouses. Dinga is 8 years old, she is used to being in the house, she is a typical hound couch potato. She loves to go outside, she likes walks and she doesn't appear to have any health issues. She is her foster mom's best friend. Dinga is located in south east Arizona. The foster mom takes frequent trips to Tucson and occasional trips to Phoenix for meet and greets. Please come meet this beautiful girl and give her the real forever honme she deserves. 602-316-8919 (no texts please)
