    SHADY

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Baby
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Miniature Pinscher (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Please contact Jenny Cope (giveadogahome@live.com), 207-852-7211 for more information about this pet. All pets adopted out will be spay/neutered, micro-chipped, de-wormed,heartworm tested, rabies and relevant vaccinations. NO DOG WILL BE ADOPTED TO BE AN OUTSIDE DOG! Monthly Heartworm preventative, and monthly flea/tick preventative must be administered throughout the course of the dogs life. The adoption donation of dogs may vary. Please check out each individual dogs information for the minimum donation amount. The Application can be downloaded from the website, or feel free to email to request one. www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org Indepth application, references and a home check will be required before adoption is completed. Anyone wanting to adopt a German Shepherd MUST have knowledge about their needs. These are very intelligent dogs that need lots of exercise, both physically and mentally. Please discuss and consider if you are now, and will be in the foreseable future, in a financial position to provide to the dogs needs, unexpected vet bills, and common health issues specific to the breed. Shady was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 4 April 2017. Shady has been listed as a lab mix, however, his siblings were black/tan and more of a min-pin look. Shady also has a tail that often curls around like a pug. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think he breed/s is. Shady is still a puppy and will need a dedicated family that has the time and patience to work and teach him how he is expected to behave. A family who will not get angry or upset if he chews their shoes or has an accident inside. He is a baby and although very smart and responsive, he needs to be guided in his mannerisms and behavior and continue to let his beautiful personality develop. Shady is a sweet, affectionate, playful, high energy fun loving boy. He is great with other dogs and is always chasing and playing rough with them. He plays great with the other pups that are here. He has learnt to be respectful with the other adult dogs and enjoys their company. He is very affectionate and is always jumping up on the sofa to cuddle up to me or be as close as he can. We do not have cats in the rescue so cannot comment on how she would behave around them. He can be shy with new people, but soon warms up. He will be shy and will need to gain confidence when he goes to new places. We do not recommend dog parks for several weeks, if not months, it is so very important for families and dogs to form a strong bond and get to know each other before exposing them to the potential dangers of dog parks. Although all GaDaH dogs are very well socialized with other dogs, lots of other dogs have not had the benefit of this socialization and do not always know how to play and act with other dogs. You also do not know the control the other families have over their dogs and you should always have a good recall for your adopted dog before going to dog parks. Shady does use the dog door to go outside to do her business although she will not know to let you know if he needs to go outside. Shady is young and high energy and so a family with an active lifestyle is a must. He would benefit from lots of road trips and adventures, hiking, trips to the lake, the beach and anywhere that he can burn off some of his energy and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. He will need a family that understands the importance of training and we encourage all families to work on basic and advanced training as a family so that boundaries and expectations can be set and both Shady and his humans can learn each others body language and personalities and form a stronger bond and understanding of each other. He has not had a collar or leash on and so leash training will definitely need to be worked upon. A family that understands his initial caution of people and new places, that will help him develop his confidence and trust. Shady is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of $550. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. http://www.giveadogahome-sanantonio.org Shady is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen. She has an estimated date of birth of 24 July 2016 and she weighs around 30 pounds. Tigger is listed has been listed as a Labrador / Dalmation mix. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think his breed/s is. Tigger is a happy go lucky girl, her tail is always wagging and she always has that contagious smile on her face, so happy to see anyone and share the love and affection. She loves to get her ears scratched and belly rubbed. She enjoys playing with toys and chewing on cow hooves. She is located in the kennels building and uses the dog door in her kennel to get out to the run to do her business. She has not had any accidents or been destructive whist in the kennel. She shares a kennel with Oreo and they are always playing and wrestling and having fun. She is great with all dogs of all sizes at playtime and loves to run around and chase and be chased. We do NOT have cats at the rescue so cannot comment on how she would be around, or near them. Tigger is a young girl with a lot of energy, we do not have time to work on training at the rescue, but she is responsive. She needs a family that understands she will need training and guidance. An active family who can give her the lifestyle that she needs. Playing ball in the back-yard is fun, but she would benefit from so much more, she is going to need a lot of physical and mental exercise. It is important that her family understands the importance of basic and advanced training. We advise that families work on their own basic training so that boundaries and expectations can be set and personalities and body language learnt in the process, which will help form a much stronger bond. Tigger will make a great family addition to an experienced family. She is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call her own. Clyde

    verified

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Retriever. Name: Clyde Age: (Approx) 2 years old Gender: Male Updated Bio 9/7/2017: Meet Clyde! He is stunning and very healthy with lots of personality. Clyde is a very stunning and loving 2 year old black lab who came from a home in SC with his mother, father and lab siblings who all lived together and roamed at large when they wanted to. They had a large home with the door open all the time so they could come and go as they pleased. Clyde doesn’t like meeting new people, but is excellent with those he feels comfortable with. Clyde is is a very high flight risk lab who has been allowed to roam where ever he likes in the past and ended up in a kill shelter because one of his elderly owners passed away and the husband could not keep him. He was in danger and we rescued him. His siblings and parents were also rescued by another rescue at a different time after we took in Clyde. So, Clyde is probably very sad he can’t be with his lab family and could possibly take off looking for them. He loves other dogs. In fact, he needs a home with multiple other dogs (at least 2). If he is left alone in the home, he will also go through screen doors and windows to get out in his world of wonderment!! He has not been tested on an electric underground fence and he has been a great escape artist in the past and taken off. He just needs the perfect yard to play and run in with other dogs, who are not bossy with him, and who will be friendly. He loves to eat and is food motivated, but you can’t entice him with food to come back into the house if he is not ready to do so. He plays well with other dogs, and has been around children over the age of 7 and done well. He likes to sleep in the bed with you and on the sofas in the home. He is up on all his shots, neutered and ready to be your best friend. He does need a very, very secure yard if you are to keep him on your property. He will run and play on a leash or go for walks. He prefers being outdoors. He does not do well in a crate because he never had to be in one in his former home. If you do want to crate him, it must be a very large or jumbo wire crate with things to chew on inside like nylabones to keep him happy. If you want to meet Clyde, you will need to fill out an adoption application and have it approved, then we can set up the meet and greet. We can only place him in a home that has a very high fenced in yard with no gaps or places for him to get out. He’s very social with those he loves and is if he does get out, he is shy and will run away if you chase him to come back, so a trainer may have ideas for you in your own environment. If you feel you have a home that would match his needs, please fill out an application asap. He needs a home and family to love. https://www.facebook.com/New-England-Lab-Rescue-143869365643273/?sk=app_128953167177144&app Visit Clyde’s personal FB album here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/New-England-Lab-Rescue-143869365643273/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1635609973135864 Ready to Adopt?
