Plott Hound

The Plott hound was bred by the Plott family beginning in the mid 1700s. The breed was used for tracking raccoons and bear in the mountains. The breed is seen only in the eastern USA and is generally used by hunters.

The Chihuahua is a tiny bundle of joy. Kids love him ' and for good reason. This breed seems always excited about something. They do best as an indoor dog, but they love to scamper around in the yard ' in suitable weather.

The Siberian Husky is very similar in looks to the Alaskan Malamute, yet somewhat smaller in build and not quite as bold. Still, he needs a strong-willed owner who will stay in control. This dog loves to roam and explore, so he needs a nice big yard.

Though native to Australia, the Australian Cattle Dog is used on farms all over the world. They have a need for lots of activity and enjoy herding just about anything they can find.

Alusky

The Alusky is a cross between an Alaskan Malamute and a Siberian Husky. The Alusky is a hybrid or designer breed that was developed by crossing Alaskan Malamute and a Siberian Husky. Though the breed was intended to be a 50/50 mix, many of the Alusky are bred over many generations and may not always be 50% and 50%. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. We currently do not have more detailed information for this breed.

Bordernese

The Bordernese is a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Border Collie. This breed makes a good pet, if properly socialized.

The Neapolitan Mastiff was first bred by the Romans for use in war and fighting in the arena. They are best for dominant owners with experience training strong dogs.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
